Some words about the background of my major and 500 Series events template choices.
The popularity of the templates was the primary concern.
I simple chose the 12 templates for major events, with the most points (given by you) from this topic:
https://www.warlight.net/Forum/174165-awp-world-tour-12-major-event-templatesThe popularity was important for the twelve 500 Series templates too, I tried to choose the most populars, used the topic above and the official ladder poll (
https://www.warlight.net/Forum/151334-official-ladder-poll-results).
But in addition to this popularity aspect, I always use my loved tennis ATP World Tour aspects too :)
I mean, I tried to implement many ATP World Tour concepts into the AWP World Tour.
Started with the Grand Slams.
In the tennis, one of the biggest performance if somebody can do the Grand Slam (= win all the four Grand Slam events). Because the differencies of the courts (Hard, Grass, Clay) it is a very hard challenge, only a few really great players were able to do it so far!
This is why the variety was the most important factor, and not simple chose the 4 most popular templates. Ok, the popularity was an important factor too (this is why I didn't choose LD template), but, for example, the variety for Grand Slams were more important than for Masters.
Very few players love both the old and the new 1v1 Ladders. This is good! I mean, both templates are very populars (this is the most important thing), but divisive too (just like the clay or grass courts in tennis).
The MA template is not a habitual for most players, need different skills a bit (it can be the clay surface :) ).
And the Greece template maybe is not so simple than Battle Islands or Guiroma (at least for me, I can easy understand the last two, while I still can't understand well the Greece :D )
Therefore if somebody will be able to do the Grand Slam in AWP World Tour, that will be a really great performance imo.
I tried to translate the tennis surface into the Warlight AWP World Tour.
So the SR templates will be the Hard courts (the most tennis courts are hard)
The WR templates will be the Grass courts (the luck is the Grass factor :) )
Finally, the Clay courts will be the templates with extra settings (like LD, MA, Commanders, LFD, no split, not normal fogs, kill rates, bonuses, etc.)
This is the grouping method (G-Grass, H-Hard, C-Clay) in the previous post too.
On the ATP World Tour there are seasons, like Clay, Grass seasons.
My plan (if the majority can accept it :) ), there will be seasons in AWP World Tour too.
- After the Guiroma Masters (first week of March) until the Poland Masters (first week of June) will be the "Clay" season (using templates with extra settings).
It means three major and three 500 Series events, plus (depends on the Mondays in the given year) seven 250 Series events (25% of the Tour events)
- After the Poland Masters (first week of June) until before the Treasure Map Masters (the last week of July) will be the "Grass" season (using WR templates).
It means one major and two 500 Series events, plus (depends on the Mondays in the given year) five 250 Series events (15% of the Tour events)
- From the Treasure Map Masters (first week of August) until the Guiroma Masters (first week of March) will be the "Hard" season (using SR templates).
It means eight major and seven 500 Series events, plus (depends on the Mondays in the given year) sixteen 250 Series events (60% of the Tour events)
The choosen templates in above posts are based on these seasons already.
Another thing that the end of the year the ATP Tour move to Asia, according to this, I chose asian major and 500 Series event templates :D
These (using tennis aspects) is my additional fun, but if the majority want to change anything I am totally open for it, because this series is for everyone's fun, and I am only one of you ;)
