I'm not sure if you've tried this yet, but creating a game with 'Open Seats' (easy to do through the Create Game process; simply click the Add Open Seat button when selecting players for the game) is the best way to get a game with random people going. They usually fill up pretty quickly in the middle of the day, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.
