At half amount, i guess. This way less players would search for ways to earn cheap wins :S
Also amount of points earned in team games should be increased largely. Right now it is ridiculous compared to the time you waste on single team match.

only way to avoid level grinders is to have a separate section for those who don't care about level grinding anymore.

would be cool to have different "islands" where you could go and opt to see the games from all of them or just the ones that interest you. so the "lottery island" for example would only allow people to create lottery games, and those who don't want to see those games would only pay attention to the other "islands".

you could even let the users define their own filters and decide who gets to come in or doesnt, either by pre-requisites filters or by invite only. this would also allow clans to have their own islands only accessible to clan members and keep a clean historic of what has been happening in the "island". could also be used for special tournament series (clan leagues, wgl, clots, etc)

just a thought.

Actually to make duel or lottery games even less significant you should actually LOSE points for losing games.. It would also stop the general inflation of levels, and would make Membership worthy again (when you level down, you would lock the features you previously unlocked)

A system where the loser loses the amount of points the winner gained may work (newbies with 0 don't give you any points at all).

leon is right. If you lost points for losing you would not see tons of FFA farming games

I couldnt care less about the leveling system as it is. This is something for kids.

myhand - somehow fizzer refrains from implementing global elo.. positive/negative points system would at least make a stopgap for it.. but not the positive-points-only solution which is now, what among other cons made a horrible mess of opengames.. i - together with a lot of other players no longer use open games menu.. or marginalized it's use a lot..

Not just POints for a loss....
but maybe instead at least points for second and third.....

If its 1 on 1 I see no points for the losing team,
but it its a 3 or 4 man team... the points for the middle team should be something as well...

there is no such thing as a second team. there is also no such thing as a draw.

let me give you an example - imagine two friends playing a 3ffa with one random opponent - you.. you will have guaranteed NO points whereas the two players will have guaranteed points for winning the game or at least scoring "second".. It would only be an incentive to make more meaningless games made only to kill the other player, and farm points out of his misfortune...

yes I see the suicidal point where buddies will take turns suiciding for the other player...

Team 2 should get some points as well for beating team three....

Multiplayer games when its just three teams.. yeah that can be exploited, but what about in games where theres over 10 players....

Make that the catch... 5 or more player Solo Games and 4 or more teams in team games give a second place bonus......!!

Or basicly any game with 4 or more players will reward a Second place! :)

Lose points for losing games...

I don't think that is a good idea. Maybe lose level progress, but actually locking features you previously unlocked is... awful. Seriously, that is the quickest way to lose players. My account was grand fathered and I prefer single player games. I play lottery games to unlock more AI slots for my scenarios.

I already think it's silly as hell that people can't start games with all the maps until they grind to level 50 or so anyway, like those people at level 50 are somehow entitled to more of the game because they are on it more or are better at it. So silly.

Personally, there are only ever like 10-15 games on the real time screen anyway, it isn't like you can't overlook lottery games. If your deal is that you just can't stand people that grind to level 50 instead of "earning" it, then don't tie features with levels. So silly.
