That's a fun ladder. And it starts to seem more competitive than the regular 1v1.

I have to leave the ladder for a few weeks. But I did finally finish my 20 games to finally get a rank!

Anyway, this is where it's at. If you're used to the other ladders, then it's a little shock to the system as this ladder really trains you on versatility and throws you against quite skilled opponents (at first, and then it will balance out at around your skill level, as it is with ladders).

The CLOT keeps track of your rating, and your rank as soon as you cross the 20 game threshold automatically. It also keeps track of your history like the other ladders via links to old games (neatly sort-able by map, date and opponents rating) and your ranking history via a little graph like in the other ladders.

Highly recommended!

I just had an idea: If you think there arent enough players on the MDL then how about you negotiate with Fizzer about a few ads for it on WL?
I am not sure how much ads actually cost, but maybe it would be possible to buy them with coins.

Edit: Imo this is about exposure. To increase players you need to increase exposure. There are a few ways to do this:

• tell all your friends = you will reach all your friends
  
• make a forum thread = you reach people who read the forum. Not all will read your thread.
  
• Actively recruit people in ongoing games or from other ladders = this takes time, your range is low, probably overlaps with your friends that you already talked to. But I think also has a good chance of success
  
• buy your opponents, as in ads =P

I'm just seeing this great thing because I ignore the forums due to all the garbage posts. This is the 2nd greatest thing ever, 1st being a team ladder. If there are any other clots or random template ladders, let me know. MME is incredibly boring.

Looks fun, joined. Though I don't know about 1/3 of those templates...so not sure how well I will perform. It is a good way to get exposure to them though.

Changes:

Added gzip compression to the server response
Show only the last 15 games on the main page

These changes should reduce the page load time significantly(600%). It'll also reduce the size of the response from the site, which is beneficial for those who have data restrictions.

There is no way to see all games ever played. You can always see all games via respective player pages. If anyone uses the "all games" view and wants it brought back, let me know and I'll work on it.

How about adding the template from the first seasonal ladder? It's strategic Medium earth with lightfog and warlords set at 0 neutral armies.

I know you already have Medium earth and lightfog in the mix but I think it differs alot from those (in regards to the map and setting on those two templates).

I think it would be more suitable (and fun) with 0% luck and straight round for a ladder though which I changed it to in the link above. Missing out on your luck puts you at a even higher disadvantage when your opponent is able to see it, especially failing to capture bonuses in the very beginning :P

Lightfog on Medium earth is what I like most about this as it's something that makes picking different on the map, the 0 neutrals adds another little twist on that.

I don't really mind that you can get income faster, but sure I get that some don't. If you want to slow it down a bit you can just do it with the original settings with more luck (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?TemplateID=128652). I think both are fun and strategic :)
