Today is armistice day where the Brits place their poppy's in reefs and wear them with pride. As they are grateful for the gift of life and freedom because of their brave men in WW1 who gave their life so the modern day Brits could celebrate a special day for themselves. But we should pay our respects to all British men, women, children as young as 15 who gave their lives in any way. So I think I speak for all of warlight when I say RIP to all soldiers who have died in vain since 1914.
11.11.1914 or the day when armistice was signed was the day when World War 1 was effectively ended on the western front and in its entirety. Though the German capitulation happened at 5 o'clock later on at night on the same day, the real armistice was signed at 11 o'clock in the Compiègne Wagon. During those 6 hours both sides were already losing many men however. Prior to the agreement the Weimar Republic had already replaced the German Empire and had experienced a failed communist coup attempt in Bavaria. No German general had the intention to continue the war as their situation was hopeless.
But as for this day, we remember the lives that died for Belgium and allies. The pointless and meaningless massacre of soldiers only to gain additional kilometers of enemy's territory. The horror. And the great patriotic lie.
Happy remembrance day everybody
Gelukkige wapenstilstand
Joyeux jour de l'Armistice
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Deutsche Niederlage

May those who died all rest in peace
