These laws are meant for israelites, which entails members of the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and ten other tribes who are also citizens of the Kingdom of Israel. It is ridiculous to claim that any modern christians meet this criteria.
ohhhhh sorry, if these law are only meant for israelites, then i guess it is perfectly reasonable that the God Almighty, All Benevolent SuperBeing, would call for the stoning of children, gays, "witches" and more. I mean COME ON it is ONLY for the Israelites, nothing immoral here right?
Do you even believe that this is a good enough "justification" for all the horrors in the Bible?
lol this "But That's Just The Old Testament!" is a bullshit cop-out. The god of the new testament is the same god of the old one, aka Yahweh, aka Jesus, aka "the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." Matthew
5:17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
5:18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
(i don't know about heaven, but the earth seems fine...)
5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Luke
16:17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for one dot of the Law to become void.
