Being a soldier is a very brave thing; good? Maybe not, maybe yes sometimes, but still very brave, and under some circumstances if the fair rules of war are employed and obeyed, honorable. So some soldiers can be good, some honorable, some none, and some both, but all are fairly brave, and bravery merits respect, even if the person is not good or honorable, if only for being a soldier and having the bravery to be one.

I think veterans inherently deserve a certain amount of respect. These are goys who decided to trade in years of their life to be public servants, and a true servant to the public, moreso than a politician would ever be.

Whether or not the veteran themself is of good character might not even matter if they were on the front lines or saw people die or lose friends, because they'll suffer from thar psychological trauma.

There are the scumbags, but there are those like my own grandpa whose stuck in a shit place and just wants to drink it all away.

this man deserves respect, besides the fact that he fought for his country, but also for the fact that he had the power on his last hours of living to say his opinions .(might understand wrong , i dont have much details on it, but eh, my gesture counts)
