In this game, for all five turns, my team didn't get the first turn. Why did it happen? Is it just decided at random?

Cyclic move order.

ABCD -> DCBA -> ABCD

Note that there is multiple forms of move orders, you can check what is being used in settings. The link also covers the other types, random and NLC, in addition to Cyclic.

if you play team games with even amount of players and even amount of teams the same team will always have first move but last move as well on every single turn but the players getting 1st and last move will change every turn like you can see in the example TBest just posted as well

Thanks guys. Really stupid system. Surely the fairest way is to have it go: ABCD, BCDA, CDAB etc.
