Congratulations on the trophy! Hope the cheating was worth it. Thanks for showing us all your true character and your incompetence... hope you leave the ladder soon :)
That's okay. I know it was kinda dickish, that's why I apologized to my opponents.
However, my 2nd place with only 6 points less than Motoki was legit. You can see I didn't drag my first 2 loses. Then it came to such small things like Motoki winning a game before my 20th, point fluctuations etc.
I wasn't even stalling my losses until I won the rest of my games, I was stalling my losses until point inconsistencies gave me #1. That's not so bad IMO, but I can understand that some people won't agree.
@edit So yeah, I admit it wasn't cool. But insulting other people using an alt isn't cool either. Who are you Drunk?
That's how you took rank 1. Not really what I'd call point inconsistencies. Rank 1's wins needing to expire isn't the same as someone you beat winning a game, etc.
The problem is the point system and not a player. He is not the first who stalls a bit and won't be the last. Everyone who does ladder runs, does trick the ladder system. If you want to be a deserved number 1, you need to keep it for a longer time periode in games against good opponents. That is my point of view.
Nauz, I'm glad you're always willing to say what you think. However it would be more meaningful if you did it on an account that everyone knows is you, rather than hiding behind an alt.
For once i agree with krunx that the ladder system is the main problem. Every trophy obtained trough a run is gamed the system in a way. If a player needs additionally to the run bonus also to stall, it just shows how weak he actually is.
Most of us agree. It's absolutely wrong but I can't blame people who go for it when basically everyone else is doing it anywhere near as much as I blame the system.
I'm pretty sure at least half of the 1st place trophy owners gamed the system to get it. Rento is not the first and won't be the last. This is a flop in the system, there are no rules against it and there is absolutely no point in making a thread to toss insults around because you don't like it.
As I said, not everyone will agree with me here. But still, I'm surprised by the overall reaction.
Let me get this straight: I got my #2 fair and square. I didn't purposely pick easy opponents. Quite the opposite actually, I've got 5 wins against players with rating of 2000-2150 (and that answers the question how I got such high rating with that many losses).
I'd have gotten #1 if my opponents played just a little bit faster. But they didn't, so I was 6 points behind (because of Motoki's last win). I decided to stall those games to gain these few points and advance 1 (one) rank for a few hours. Just because I was close. It wasn't even that important to me and I didn't suppose it would cause a shitstorm.
Then I surrendered and I fell to #3, which is probably where I belong. I'm level with alhazi, which is quite a feat, and if you say this level is "weak" or that it's not "a respectable rating", then you should stop talking and leave, because it's insulting to all the good players ranked below me or who lost to me.
It wasn't even a "run". I'm planning to stay here for a while. I'll try to improve my skill and take #1 by directly beating the leader sometime.
I didn't think I'd have to explain myself. #1 or #2, you guys see such a large difference here? Motoki isn't even the highest ranked player. He wouldn't be on top if Ollie didn't leave the ladder. Do you think he doesn't deserve #1 because of that? Of course you don't think that, because you would be silly.
