Division Q2 - The Second Last Update

As you can see, all but one game finished, which is CORP against Preußen Garde showdown on 3v3 Deadman's Rome. The game will decide the second promotion spot: If CORP loses, DD is in division C. If CORP wins, CORP is in division C. As we can see, in this division every point mattered (even if only for two clans), and traditionally it's decided on the 3v3s.

When the game finishes, I will write a long summary for the finished division.

Preussen Garde, not German Warlords?

Interesting to see that Preussen Garde actually has the better 3v3 record until this point, so a CORP win feels far from guaranteed.

I thought the same Math Wolf, but with Nara-sim being booted 3 times in this game, I'd be shocked if Preussen Garde pulled it out.

Preußen Garde actually won that game. Pretty tough for Corp, but an overall appearance from the 3vs3 Deadman's ROR squad of Preußen Garde.

I had 7th heaven winning this easy, which they did, but the surprise for me is DD. Well done both!

Division Q2 - The End

Tournament Results:

3v3 Deadman's Rome

(4-1) Lu Fredd (ssese+Nobody+Arigal)
(4-1) 7th Heaven (Jenova+Red XIII+Zack Fair)
(4-1) Preußen Garde (Nina+Naram-Sin+cnxer)
(2-3) CORP (The Shots+Baer+orionaux)
(1-4) Dutch Forever (Philippe+PeterVog+Tjerk)
(0-5) German Warlords (Suschel+FC Bayern+Thoabear)

This one has a somewhat unexpected three-way tie for first place, having Lu Fredd losing only to Preußen, 7th Heaven only to Lu Fredd, and Preußen only to 7th Heaven. In case of CORP, it didn't even help having one of the opponents getting booted thrice in game against Preußen Garde.

2v2 Guiroma

(5-0) 7th Heaven (Alexander the Great+Cid Highwind)
(3-2) CORP (Garlikid D. Ven+Chancho)
(3-2) Lu Fredd (max+kalati)
(2-3) Preußen Garde (Olkani+Angi)
(1-4) German Warlords (Corvus5+Thoabear)
(1-4) Dutch Forever (Master B+Lothorien)

One of the three tournaments sweeped by 7th Heaven. CORP and Lu Fredd tied for second, while Germans and Dutch tied for last (damn nationalists!).

1v1 Medium Earth WR
(5-0) 7th Heaven (Bahamut)
(4-1) CORP (mm3100)
(3-2) Lu Fredd (MrJimmy)
(2-3) Preußen Garde (Stirax)
(1-4) Dutch Forever (Hendrik)
(0-5) German Warlords (Ulti)

Very "regular" scores with no ties. Another tournament sweep, by Belzebu/Bahamut of 7th Heaven. With exception of CORP and Lu Fredd, clans took the exact same places as in full division result. One of the two tournaments where German Warlords went completely winless.

1v1 Guiroma
(5-0) 7th Heaven (Cait Sith)
(4-1) Dutch Forever (surfpizza)
(3-2) CORP (Tjoex)
(2-3) German Warlords (m7)
(1-4) Preußen Garde (Olkani)
(0-5) Lu Fredd (moffel38 / Double D.)

Third tournament sweep for 7th Heaven! This is an odd one, with Dutch Forever being quite strong here with a 4-1 (they would get one win per template otherwise). It's also one of the two German Warlord's strongest templates, with m7's (2-3). It's the only tournament where DD had less than 3 wins, and in fact they had 0! The four boot losses from moffel38 could have costed them a lot.

1v1 Volcano Island
(5-0) Lu Fredd (Lucien Müller)
(3-2) CORP (The Shots)
(3-2) 7th Heaven (Cloud Strife)
(2-3) Preußen Garde (Naglfar)
(2-3) German Warlords (Janine)
(1-4) Dutch Forever (Lucky Light)

Clear sweep for DD! It was 7th Heaven's weakest template, and second of [GER]'s strongest templates (whose represent beat CORP and Preußen Garde players).

Statistics

Tournament Sweeps (aka Tournament Wins):
3 - 7th Heaven (2v2 Guiroma, 1v1 Guiroma, 1v1 Medium Earth WR)
1 - Lu Fredd (1v1 Volcano Island)

Majority of Q2 players played only in one tournament (not surprising, considering it was only half of all tournaments of the season) so much of player statistics I was going to do would be redundant. Also, because of that choosing the MVP for each clan would be unfair since each of them played different format, meaning different amounts of points for each win. Those who played in one than one tournament were:

The Shots (CORP) (3v3 Deadman's Rome, 1v1 Volcano Island) went (5-5) across two tournaments and co-scored 24 out of 40 points possible
Olkani (Preußen Garde) (2v2 Guiroma, 1v1 Guiroma) went (3-7) across two tournaments and co-scored 11 out of 35 points possible
Thoabear (German Warlords) (3v3 Deadman's Rome, 2v2 Guiroma) went (1-9) across two tournaments and co-scored 4 out of 45 points possible

As we can see, fielding players in multiple tournaments isn't necessarily an advantage...

Clan Results:

7th Heaven:
Clan, that, as expected, did very well in almost all templates. 60% of formats were lossless, and in the whole competition they lost only three games. Bahamut, Cait Sith and team Alexander the Great+Cid Highwind were responsible for the flawless templates, while DRome team Zack Fair+Red XIII+Jenova (4-1) and Cloud Strife (3-2) also contributed their unvaluable points. Their "weakest" template was 1v1 Volcano Island with (3-2), led by Cloud Strife, which didn't change that much for this clan, after all other templates went so well.
It seems that the clan is slowly becoming a strong force in Clan League, after almost sweeping whole qualifier, they are almost set to catch a promotion spot in stage two, and then be a division B clan.

Lu Fredd:
With the exception of 1v1 Guiroma bootfest, on each template they made sure to win at least three games. However, this consistency wouldn't be enough, especially with a winless 1v1 Guiroma, but they bought it back in two templates: Volcano Island, swept by Lucien Müller and surprisingly strong team (sesse+Arigal+Nobody) on the very valuable DRome that brought them 20 of their overall 56 points.
Having destroyed their competition in Clan League 7, despite being a relatively unknown clan, DD then disappeared (with their top players joining other clans), and now resurfaced with wholly new line-up, doing their thing once again. How is their future looking like - no idea.

CORP:
Similarly to Lu Fredd, in all but one template they had at least three wins. In fact, their winrate is identical to that of Lu Fredd - 60%. Unfortunately, the difference lays in detail - their strong point was 1v1 Strat ME with (4-1), led by mm3100, while their weakest was 3v3 Drome with The Shots+orionaux+Baer team going (2-3). So even though they had more points off 1v1s, it's the most valuable format where they failed.
It seems that CORP isn't very lucky in CL, having extremely suffered from boots previous season, and now being only one-two games away from promotion.

Preußen Garde:
It's the clan that was upsetting the upper three the most. Despite never being in run for promotion, they joined a three-way tie for tournament win in 3v3 Drome, which brought them nearly half of their overall points (20 out of 43!!), thanks to team of Nina, Naram-Sin and cnxer. They had a bit of luck on 2v2 Guiroma against CORP, and upsetting win against 7th Heaven on 1v1 Volcano Island.
After their not-so-bad result in previous season they are keeping up their level, winning some and losing some.

Dutch Forever:
Clan that was the most consistently lackluster, having exactly one win on all but one template. There perhaps could be more, if Hendrik didn't get booted in three 1v1 ME games. Their strongest point by far was (4-1) on 1v1 Guiroma.
Despite giving a hard time their rivals in division D of previous season, having Farah keeping eye on them, their line-up and overall results now didn't seem to be quite there.

German Warlords:
Only winning one game out of five, this clan was the weakest, without strong result in any of the tournaments. Two winless tournaments (including 3v3 DRome), their best being (2-3) on 1v1 Guiroma (also thanks to Lu Fredd boot) by m7 and 1v1 Volcano Island (defeating CORP!) by Janine. Maybe their results would be way better without boots from Thobaer and Corvus5 in team games.
Being the only debuting clan in the, their first season was harsh for sure! They surely need to watch over their players more carefully next time around, and maybe their stage 2 line-up was stronger? Anyway good luck for the future!

Boots and Non-joins

Boots were always a part of Clan League, and nothing will change that. Here is how each clan was affected by them:

7th Heaven:
This clan went bootless, only collecting free points off booters.

Lu Fredd:
Moffel38 have got four boots on 1v1 Guiroma (against CORP, 7th Heaven, German Warlords and Preußen Garde), meaning a loss of 12 points for the clan.

CORP:
Ven didn't join two of his games on 2v2 Guiroma, auto-losing 8 points for the clan.

Preußen Garde:
Aside from a won 3v3 DRome against CORP, no boots! Keep it up.

Dutch Forever
Hendrik got booted in three 1v1 ME games - against Lu Fredd and 7th Heaven during pick phase, and against Preußen Garde which still wasn't decided either, overally losing 9 points for his clan.

German Warlords:
Thoabear got booted in all 3v3 DRome games, not even joining the one against Lu Fredd. One of them was already lost, but not others.
Corvus5 got booted in 2v2 Guiroma against 7th Heaven during picks (took over in turn5). Thobaer was his teammate, so I can't tell which one didn't join 2v2 Guiroma games against Dutch Forever and Lu Fredd.
Overally that's loss of 8 games and 37 points!

So... that's all, I guess. Stage 2 starts very soon, with 7th Heaven, Lu Fredd, FCC, Hydra, TJC and Statisticians competing for promotion to division B, and everyone else competing for... idk what, but let's get carried away by spirit of sports competition!
