yeah rento that was quite funny, PS and I both were not sure who made it and decided to not mention who created it :P but PS just followed the usual program and of course mentioned the supposed creator till he probably realized the trap himself :D

Fun fact: this is the only RT ladder map/template to use super bonuses (nested bonuses). The 1-bonuses baked into the center of 4,5 and 6-bonuses provide the backbone for basically all picking strategies.

Mod identified a common and highly effective start to most picking strategies: 1 in the northern 1-bonus (Harbin), 2 in either the middle or western 1-bonus, and 3 in an ftb 3-bonus. This works because it guarantees at least +6 income for turn 1, which is required to get the ftb 3-bonus.

PS pointed out the importance of having a backup plan to reach the North. In case you miss your northern 1-bonus and your ftb is in the South, consider pick 4 in Beijing or the nearby 3-bonus so you can attack the North after you build some income with your other picks (Mod also mentioned this).

ATTENTION MAPMAKERS: we'd love to see more maps with these types of bonuses.

Personally, I hate this kind of a map. The picking strategy is repetitive and half of your picks are forced.

It's fair to dislike the template, but maybe your statement is a bit exaggerated? Also, if every template lead to perfectly "non-repetitive" picking, would that be a form of repetition?:)
