Games with https://www.warlight.net/wiki/Commanders create a "sudden death" condition for each player. Here are some fun strategies resulting from this condition.

The False Tunnel
This one may already be familiar to many. To pull this off, you need to leave a neutral territory on the flank of one of your bonuses with the hope of luring in the enemy commander. Just when the commander is about to move there, play an order priority card, send a large stack there, and the commander will pancake into it and be eliminated. Credit the Road Runner for coming up with this one.

The Matador
When you're behind on income and your commander is running from a bull-sized stack, try this one. Expand someplace else, keep your commander boldly in place and wave your red cape. If you're lucky the bull-stack will anticipate a move away from your current position and charge the cape. Olé!

Frozen in Carbonite
This one is tricky. You have to anticipate the enemy commander will move and the opponent will blockade its current position. If you send enough troops to the new spot before the commander, the commander will fail to take it, remain in the blockade position, and become fatally blockadeified.

Or there is the blind encounter- where your commander just runs into a random stack that you know not why it is there. That is always an enjoyable moment, unless you destroy your computer...

Oh I don't want to die without sharing this one:

As a matter of fact, I wasn't expecting my opponent's commander there. I was expecting to lose, I was about to lose. And for some seconds after I committed, I couldn't understand how the game ended.

I can laugh because I've lost many games that way. Eventually you learn not to send your commander alone into ominous fog.

Does anyone have links to examples of "The Matador" (preferably ones where the matador goes on to win) or "Frozen in Carbonite"?
