It's a know Warlight fact that a high level is not necessarily a sign of a great player. Although, when I see a player with level 57, 56, 55 I assume they are good knowing how long it takes to level up after a certain level. When I checked the 1 vs 1 Ladders sections I noticed only one or two level 55+ players in the top 10-15. On the profiles of some of the highest leveled players I found that many of them hide their ranked games statistics so I could not tell where they are getting all those points without being know for winning tournaments and ladder games. What do you think?
Sorry for the grammar and spelling mistakes. I am not a native English speaker.

i believe we can assume that at this pont very few bad players will be at lvls 54+, its not only about playing lots o games, its about winning them, and the games that give more points (multi-day, ladder tournaments) require some skill to win

So you are saying that many level 54+ players play lotteries?

Oh ok I see, but are Mike and MG good at other types of games. ( 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2) stuff like that.

All three of the top play a lot of lotteries. I've played Mike in 1 v. 1 and he's actually pretty good. That doesn't mean that he's the best but he's still good.

Cool, I've been on a team with MG once in a 2v2v2, he told me to do many things I would've never done and we ended up winning.

The level only tells sth about how active a player is. Even a player with only 20% win rate achieves a high level if he just creates tons of lottery games. You dont even have to see those lottery games in the Open Games list if all seats already are taken by invites. So, without anyone knowing, a bunch of WL gamers could play hundrets of lottery games in just one day and level up VERY quickly.

Regardless of how a player gets to a certain level it still proves very little other than they are very active. The question was not so much if the player played lottery games or even how the player reached their high level but if they were the best. That's obviously a big no. Level is no measurement of skill, just activity. Can the best/a great player be the highest level? Yes. Does the level mean anything? Nope.

Level, win rate, all that stuff doesn't help you decide who the best player is. Some guy could be an amazing player at like level 10 because he doesn't play lotteries, or doesn't play too often. Someone could be the best but only plays diplos so he has a lower win rate. And plus, each type of game has its own specialists. Like some guy may be amazing at diplo, but might suck at FFA or 1 v 1 or team games.

Higher level doesn't mean more skill, just more activity, however it's hard to deny that a level 6 like me probably isn't gonna beat anybody over level, like, 25, just cause we lack the experience. There are exceptions to every rule though, and I'm sure there are or have been a few low leveled players that are very good at strategy games and could beat out some of the best. As to the question of how high leveled players got so high, I could see it easy to just set up games with friends and constantly surrender to them, however the lottery sounds like it could net LOTS of points as well.

Hi Just to let you see how lottery games can make players earn a lot of point : I recently join a round robin lottery tournament (since i realize i can join the ladder on next level). After two days (but only half an hour joining game), i junp from level 47 to almost 50, that means that i win something like 230 000 points without having to be a good player.
Except those lottery players (they can be also good players), top ranked ones will be a mix of the bests and the most actives players.
