I'm not sure if this has been brought up already as I haven't been active in the forums for some time. I have recently gotten into the RP/Diplo part of this game and I am finding there to be a community of people destroying the chats. They are roleplaying singular individuals, which I do not necessarily have a problem with but they are spamming so much chat that the chat crashes when trying to view older text and any diplomatic talk gets lost in a sea of nothing. The RP typically does not have any relevance either. When I've asked these individuals to decrease the amount of RP talk or take it to another place (skype) I receive a ton of backlash.

A good example would be when they simulated a sex scene between presumably two world leaders. When I asked them to stop, I was essentially told to fuck off. I'd show you screenshots but as I said I can no longer access archived chat. I know warlight is heading to Unity but this is so fucked up. I'm not trying to stop people from roleplaying but there's a point where it simply detracts from the point of the game.

Wait. So what are you complaining about?

That RP ppl roleplay?
That some use inappropriate language? *hint* report them.

Also, I would say that RP/Diplo has one very important difference.
RP: The goal is to Roleplay (typically a leader of a country) Games are often VTE.

Diplo: Goal is to win. Basically an FFA were forming alliances is encouraged.

It sounds to me that you want to play Diplo games, but find yourself in RP games?

EDIT: If you are only complaining at the loading time of View Older Chat, then yes I agree. It is slow, and can cause mobile app at least to crash.

If there was chat control, it would kill the purpose of diplos/rp to begin with. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you don't really like the games where people do it, 1) don't join 2) don't try to keep up with chat, just DoWs and other key notes.

Just play EUIV if you want diplomacy.

I am complaining about the fact that the chat is crashing on my computer. Like I said, I'm not trying to get people to stop roleplaying. The issue is that they want to chat a considerable amount and I have asked it to be moved to a different location or at least toned down because it is crashing the chat game. Half the people are trying to play diplo and about 3-5 people are trying to roleplay. I don't see why the roleplaying individuals cannot use another chat function and not crash the warlight one. There are thousands of lines of chat that no computer can view archived chat.

That's something Unity has fixed, just wait for the release or send monies Fizzer's way.

Just keep notes on important facts (like, who is at war with who), and ignore the rest. For negotiations, personal messages are very useful.

One cannot find the facts because they become lost in a sea of RP chat. Not everyone has time to read out hundreds of lines of rp to and to analyze the RP to determine what the players actually are and are not doing. The simply solution until unity is to simply move the RP to skype or another chat. It is such a simple solution. But when asked about the fact that no one can view older chat the response I get is "I don't see the reason why we should move our chat". It is infuriating.
