hello warlighters... a little while ago a idea was posted on the forums or rather brought back up... it was the manager league idea... i have been developing a idea to better that idea... it is based off the NCAA so let me try to explain. it is structured in this way... leagues contain teams and teams consist of a set number of players (not sure about it yet... thinking 4-5) each league is run by a league coordinator (who answers directly to me or who ever is in charge) the league coordinator is in charge of inviting and kicking out teams setting up the schedule of the teams (assisted by the team captains and other league coordinators) updating your league website (each league and team will have a weebly website) and making a monthly report of your league... you become a league coordinator by one of two ways... you can take charge of a existing league if the current coordinator is no longer going to take responsibility (and you must be approved by the ruling body what ever it will be) you can create a new league (must be approved by the ruling body you may need to state why you feel it is needed or how it would be used) this would be most of the duties of a league coordinator but you must be willing to comply with the ruling body to help out in any way... i have a idea that may make it a little more in depth but i will see what is thought about that one in a little. team captains... a team captain is like the league coordinator but for just the small team... the big thing though is that you are the leader in the games and you assemble your team... you also do have to update your team website... to become a team captain all you have to do is assemble your team of 4 or 5 (what ever it is decided on) and then apply to a league and wait to see if you get accepted... i will explain more about that in a second. it is rated like the NCAA... namely there is a group of warlight experts that watch the games and rank the teams... for the lower tier teams they rank it based on the wins as they can't watch every game... i know that this is a very unrefined idea so i need you guys to help me with the idea... but i have one last thing to say. a incentive to continue and go to better leagues is that of a currency... if you win you get "money" (not real money) but you sign contracts with the leagues that give you money per month but you give them a cut of the money you earn... the way you get money is people can view the games for money... you get a link to the game for a price but in the mail that you get the link in there must be the league coordinator so he can make the trans action... i know that this idea in particular is unrefined but i think it has a potential

as i said not supper flushed out and poorly formatted but while dead piggy's synopsis was slightly close it did not have the feel i was looking for (yes i do understand that it was supposed to be sarcastic)... also your schedule is not just in your league so there's that... i didn't think it would be well revived... but i didn't think that the hate would be this much

well that came from nowhere :-) that was terrible.

I actually already operate a league in a similar manner. with team captains and round robin tourneys. We run 5 person teams and currently my league has 9 teams, although we have 5 more under construction. We are hoping to bring it up to 16 teams. I too have thought it would be nice to have a built in feature to do this, but if it means all that extra work mentioned by the OP, then no way. I would like it built in to make my life easier, not considerably more difficult. Here are the two problems I've run into running an "unofficial WL league".

First of all, I would like to be able to assign teams manually for tourneys.
(It is a huge pain to get everyone joined and on the correct teams!)

I find that I have a lot of turnover that I end up dealing with. I've got one team captain who is pretty dictatorial and boots someone off his team everytime there's a minor disagreement.

Either way, that's my two cents.

well you are the only person that seems half open... so my idea would not launch at all... ohh well.
