Clan League 9: Division D2 Official Thread: 2017-05-14 05:17:59

With the Qualifier groups nearly complete, it is time to start looking forward to the beginning of the D groups.

As a reminder, the clans in D2 are decided based on the final placements in the Q groups.

The clans in D1 will be:
  • Qy 3rd
  • Qx 4th
  • Qx 5th
  • Qy 6th
  • Qz 4th
  • Qz 5th

We will have a draw to determine which of Q1, Q2, and Q3 will correspond to Qx, Qy, and Qz once the remaining game has finished. However, we plan to start D1 on Monday, May 29th, whether or not the remaining game between 101st and Apprentice has completed. At that time, lineups will be revealed. All clans are able to make changes to their submitted lineup without spending substitutions up until the time lineups have been revealed. As a reminder, no player is allowed to occupy more than 3 slots throughout the entire season.

We are still looking for a scorekeeper for Division D2.

The clans in this division will be
  • ACME
  • Preußen Garde
  • Dutch [NL]
  • Olympus
  • 101st
  • HAWKS

As Beren said, we plan to start D2 on Monday, May 29th. You can make any changes to your line-ups before that date. The line-ups will be revealed on the same day and any changes after that will count as official substitutions.

We still need an official score-keeper for this division. If you are in any one of these 6 clans, please consider volunteering to help make this an enjoyable division.

The line-ups are now public. Any changes will count as an official substitution going forward.

3v3 Europe has begun and a new tourney will start every three days.

ViralGoat(of 101st) will be the scorekeeper for this division. Good luck to everyone involved.

Suggestion for future:

Please contact the persons of contact (i.e. by a Chatgame) before making Deadlines. I randomly noticed this thread. I fear we need to use some of our substitutions now, which could have been avoided =/

Played in the last days mainly with the App ... (nö Threads)

We asked for line-ups at the start of the season for one reason. We didn't want to chase clan leaders twice for getting their line-ups. Everyone has a chance to make substitutions before Stage 2 begins if they choose to do so.

I think we need other community members to pitch in here. There is too much work that we're already responsible for, and this is not healthy for the long-term future of the league. We're doing our best via the Clan Forum to keep everyone notified.

I think it is reasonable to expect that one of the registered clan leaders check this sub-forum on a regular basis for updates on CL9 (We can add it to the requirements for enrolling in the competition next season). If anyone feels this is insufficient, please volunteer to help with spreading our message regarding CL.

I agree with your suggestion though. We'll see what we can do before next season to automate this process of making subs, providing notifications etc.

I think this kinda is similar to the issue of not having a fixed start date for games. If, next CL is ran like a seasonal where games start every X day, then all things like deadlines missed, and players not joining (or getting booted) should be minimized.

Like, as long as you know the deadline well ahead of time, then you are prepared imo.

While it is indeed reasonable to except "the registered clan leaders check this sub-forum on a regular basis" what is regular could differ by quite a lot. (daily to weekly, or even bi-weekly.)

Might be worth having an Announcement for CL thred? Where updates/deadlines/changes are posted weekly (including a no-updates msg?)

While this is a reasonable request, we can't predict the start date for C,D1,D2 ahead of time. Once we knew the standings in Q1-3, all dates were known one week in advance. With regards to A/B, the start date not being fixed was a problem. But you have to keep in mind that starting a tournament is a manual process(so this is obviously subject to how busy we are in real-life, and we could slip by a day or two. We have not slipped by more than that afaik). We could automate this too and then have pre-determined start dates. But this is more feature work and will have to be prioritized based on what other features are urgently needed.

While it is indeed reasonable to except "the registered clan leaders check this sub-forum on a regular basis" what is regular could differ by quite a lot. (daily to weekly, or even bi-weekly.)
We have always given a minimum of one week notice. If a clan leader is not checking the forum once a week, they need to nominate a new point of contact.

Yeah sounds like a good idea. We'll do it next season.

I understand that. Maybe another way: You do a chat game at the beginning anyway.
Does it make much work to save this template including the persons of contact? If the game is old and will be deleted it could be made a new game "relatively" easy. Isn't it?
Even if this is too much work to create a chatgame with a predesigned template. The template link could be shared to several persons, which can recreate the game as soon as it is deleted.

Just an idea...

Kurdistan moved from 101st to lynx during the course of CL9. He currently represents 101st and this is within the rules.

Why are our 2v2 Final Earth games against 101st and Hawks as lost? We did not get any invites!
