Bosnia?

Syria and Iraq before the war?
It takes a very expansive definition of Middle East to include Azer/Kazakh/Kyrgyz/Tajik/Uzbek in the "Middle East". Bosnia and Albania are definitely not in the middle east. Turkey is in the middle east, but Secularism there is dying faster than a rat in a blender. Iraq wasn't secular- it was either Sunnis oppressing Shias, or Shias oppressing Sunnis. You could include Bahrain and Jordan as more secular countries in the middle east, but overall the area's a shithole. The more moderate muslims are definitely found outside it.
