It would be awesome to have your tournament wins show up on your profile. Even better if you rank in the top 5 or 10% it shows. For example if you got into the final 4 it could say "3rd place in <insert tournament name here>" Final 8 could be all 5th place, etc.

I think there's a UV for this, but yeah I agree, that is a great idea.

This would be good for tournaments of 64+ I can see a lot of people making small bs tournies just to load up on first place tournament wins to make profiles look more impressive. Or make it available for members only tournaments.

If you made it where only the top 10% got ranks and required a tournament to have at least 16 or 32 players/teams you wouldn't have that problem.

The 16 person Scenario, 1.6 would be consider a place. So only 1st and 2nd would be considered a place. This means in a single elimination you have to win at least 3 rounds

If you did 32, you would have to get to the final 4 to place. And again this means you have to go through 3 rounds. In my mind that's worth a foot note.

there are 100s of possible good/great ideas for possible minor/major changes that would improve WL. though each new WL update tends to include only 1-3 new ideas. so 50+ updates later maybe your idea will be a part of the gaming experience...

other ideas (of mine, from uservoice, things i've heard from others):

- real-time RR tournament standings displayed
- categorized invite lists [possible categories: friends, My Circle, My Clan, 1v1, team games, FFAs, real-time, 1v1 tournaments, team tournaments, multi-day]
- in-game "Players" link with each players' bonus/territories/total units categorized by teams instead of randomly and individually
- organized league play
- an ELO rating for every game
- being able to click 'back' on your browser when viewing a tournament's page and actually return to the tournament you were looking at instead of WL's home page
- ability to see who has made a move in a game within the last 15 minutes [ie, who is online]
- 3v3 europe ladder
- home/away ladder(s) [home team/player chooses map/settings]
- monthly/trial subscriptions/memberships
- optional ladder stats [to be hidden or shown on your profile]
- allow host to remove self/others who have joined
- players who are autobooted can reclaim their seat and/or one of the teammates can take over instead of having an AI [ HI > AI ]
- randomized teams in tournaments
- tournament host can assign seed # in tournaments
- auto-decline: if someone on your blacklist joins your team, you automatically decline the game
- mute option [to avoid reading what certain players write]
- tournaments with best of 3/5/7 options
- tournaments with home/away options [ie, home team picks settings/map to be played]
- 'yellow jersey' [a la tour de france] or championship belt/color [like boxing] for 1v1s/2v2s/3v3s/etc: a champion or champions is/are designated and this person plays real-time or multi-day games to keep his championship belt/color
- combined ladder rating: average of 1v1, 2v2, other ladder ratings to determine the top overall ladder players
- map ratings: players can vote on the quality of each map, 1-5 stars
- team names [determined by the players on that team] in tournaments instead of letters
- winning/losing streaks optionally displayed in stats
- new cards [long-range missile/nuclear attack card, lose turn card, peace treaty card to be played by both teams, multi-attack card...] OR ability for players to create their own cards [like how players create their own maps]
- ability to take notes on players
- identify self by country flag as an option
- additional 1v1/2v2/3v3 auto games shown as real-time/multi-day open games [to help other 1v1/2v2/3v3 games become universal game settings/maps instead of only having 2 universal/standardized game settings and only 1 map]
- ability to delete your chat messages/forum posts
- etc.

Good idea is debatable.. many of those are likely never to happen because of problems that could arise, many of them the problems have been spoken of before.. and fizzer is only one person, so ofc' he is only going to do what he is capable of doing
