The Blitz Clan is going through some minor hiccups and I'm going to try to help out where I can. Why I'm posting this is because I would like your help. I would like your help giving me advice on the best direction to take [Blitz].

I'm asking for volunteers from the wider clan community to help. Now fair warning, just because you volunteer doesn't mean I'm actually going to accept your help. These are the factors I will be using to determine whether or not I want your help.

How respected your clan is
What is your role in that clan
How respected you yourself are in the community
Have I worked with you before

Are you in Blitz with an alt and are hoping to help it out Dr.Stupid?

Honestly, recruiting for semi-elite clans like Blitz is a little bit tough because it's generally quite difficult to recruit very good players. Blitz's advantage would be that they are a well known and fairly respected clan that has been around for quite a while, so it would naturally be easier for them than many other clans. Recruiting alts is much easier, but of course that also diminishes clan loyalty so I'd go easy on alts unless those alts are very active and useful to the clan.

As much as I don't want to say it, poaching is probably the best bet for Blitz. Most players you'd naturally be after are already in clans, and those very good players who aren't in clans (like NoMercy, Swisster, player12345, Guriga and so on) are very unlikely to join. If you care about activity a lot you'd have to lower Blitz's standards and recruit good but not very good players, but again that diminishes the quality of the clan on a competitive level.

In the end it depends a lot on your ambition, and the direction you want to take the clan. ^^

Lower criteria = More members, less quality
(Final form: DARKLORDS, there is no reason to be in that clan)

Raise criteria = Less members, more quality
(Final form: MASTERS, everyone prides themselves being in a clan like that)

Alternatively you could also do what some of the bigger OK quality clans did. Mass recruit first, then slowly filter through the bad ones and keep the good players that prove their worth overtime. This plan requires lots, lots of patience though.

Continuing: If Darklords, Vitrix Mortalis etc are 0% criteria and MASTER clan / Lynx etc are 100% criteria, I think a clan like Blitz would be best off at around 75% criteria. Sprinkle in a few quality alts just to give the clan a decent head start. (You will benefit from them at first, really, especially if socialization matters to you).

Recruit players that fit a certain immutable standard and make that standard clear as day on the clan page. Actively recruit players from ladders and tournaments who fit your standard by sending them formal invitations, explaining your clan's goals and why you think your clan would be a good fit for that person (You will have to sell your clan to them like a pitchman.)

Good luck, it's honestly pretty hard but you can do it with ambition, dedication and passion. :)

lol. I think I gave people the wrong impression. I have absolutely zero interest in any advice anyone posts here. No offense, but public forums are basically 20 people shouting at you all at the same time. I am recruiting people who fit my criteria:

1. Do you care about the future of Blitz? (or for that matter do you care about any classic clans?)
2. Are you willing to act in the best interest of Blitz?
3. Are you willing to help me out by giving your opinions on matters that I ask you about?
4. Do you have a reputation as a good leader in the community or someone who makes wise decisions?

It's pretty simple -

Dr. Stupid is looking for someone to lead Blitz.

Talk to Knyte, if he is even still active. He used alts to buff CORP into a strategic clan that was within 5 points of Illuminati and 7 points of M'Hunters in CL7. The alts didn't participate in the league. They just trained the regular members.

https://www.warlight.net/Forum/112992-clan-league-7-division-d1-official-thread

The reason CORP isn't significant today is because they get hijacked a lot and knyte got distracted by Optimum before going inactive.

Venus, the key words are "advice posted here".
I want to know if your interested in participating in the discussion. If you are, then I will make the determination of whether I am interested in your participation. If all that goes well, then you get added to the group of people that is the advisory group. There and only there is where I will accept the advice from.

Quicksilver, No, not really. Whatever leader of Blitz may come after me will not be recruited off public forums in any way whatsoever. I am merely looking for people willing to participate in the decision making processes of Blitz. Are you volunteering?

Emu, I have already garnered one quality advisor from this thread. I am sorry that there are moving pieces of this strategy that are happening where you cannot see them, but I assure you, this has not been pointless so far. Thanks!

You post on public forum that you want advice and then just say you don't have interest in any advice.

Nice trolling there :)

Why lead Blitz via an alt? If you want to lead Blitz and care about them which I get the impression you do. Merge ACME into Blitz and bang you guys get B division spot and keep Blitz alive. I find it completely pointless to lead a clan via an alt. You either go all-in or you don't.

Advice:
1. Don't let our old pal Forbidden Knowledge lead Blitz.
2. I'm a bit to busy to handle more than 1 clan so I can't be on ANOTHER panel, but I do miss the good old days.
