Commander is known for rigging games, spj breaks all the immersion for wet dreaming, Juq virtually only does diplo when the diplo is a shitpost of it's own, Numby, while very fun to hang with, is inconsistent with playtime and often gets the boot, don't even get me started on the forum trolls (justinian/tabby).

I'm just going to go ahead and suggest that, if for any reason you REALLY want to play diplomacy, WAIT FOR THE MODS TO BE RELEASED. As it currently is, it's virtually unplayable, being hardly diplomatic and highest isolated income wins, with 1-3 people roleplaying, most of which just being an artistic way to say "fuck you" or "I'm dead" without being blunt. By then, when the mod mechanisms can prevent boots from being a major issue, the fun-yet-unreliable people will be able to play without slowing down the game. THEN diplos might be fun again.

Wow, Zephyrum, great post. I have never found diplo games to be much fun, and you just put into words very eloquently why that is. When I feel like being diplomatic, I instead join FFA's that allow PM's. I hope you are right about the mods being able to make actual diplo games fun for players like myself.

I found solace in playing games with actual mechanisms to enforce diplomatic play. Aka not vanilla WarLight. Maybe mods will fix that. Until then, I've been creeping in EU4.

FFAs usually do not have cool scenarios.

Anyone with a boot rate over 10% is automatically disqualified. You can't call yourself the "best" at anything if you can't bother to show up and finish the job.
