what about those platforms that investigate fake news or others that spread fake news for advertising revenues..

Let's draw a distinction between fake, scandalous news used for clickbait, and political propaganda news used for subversion. The latter was accused of alternative "alt right" news during the 2016 US presidential election. The alternative media levied the same accusations - propagsnda rather than real journalism - against their accusers. In the memetic war to control the perception of reality, the honest examination of arguments has become a casualty.

There is a french website that did offer checks to know if your news website was a source of good, poor, or straightup lying articles, wether you had to check up twice the information or if it was a valuable source.

Some examples of poorly rated newsites:

-Dailymail:
Be cautious and cross with other sources. If possible, go back to the origin of the information.

-Foxnews:

That French site seems fucking stupid, all the "Our Opinions" seem like cookie cutter responses devoid of any meaning. "Hur dur check other sources, hur dur cross check" Yeah, thanks for the advice, it's not like most people who wish to respectfully debate do that anyway or anything.


EDIT: CNN gets a pass while Fox is lowly rated, so not only is it fucking stupid, it's politically biased too. Because CNN is basically the Left wing Fox and vice versa.

I'm not a huge fan of cnn, as a matter of fact all american tv news are totally terrible, but I wouldn't go as far as say that it is worse than fox news, they still need to work a lot to get to their level, but it's not like they aren't trying huh?

If you want good news, mix several sources together, left, right and center ones. Take out of your mix whichever don't meet minimal quality standards, and read the same story from multiple angles.

That's the only way to avoid being an alienated sheep that can't see beyond the end of its nose...
