Gotta love when people refuse to surrender when sitting at such odds. (assuming its multiplayer) I have seen a handful of games where they have 1 territory left to my 100+ income and they refuse to surrender. I'll be honest, I usually just build up walls and tool around on the rest of the map.

I've done similar Richard, although never when they were down to one territory... I prefer to let them think they still have a chance, while breaking wastelands in the rest of the map, if applicable..
there is something satisfying about having the entire map your color..

But to me, it's understandable when they don't surrender thinking they have a chance. It's not when they have 1-2 territories left and a 5 income compared to an obvious 30-40 income.

Who cares if they don't surrender? As if they're not allowed to fight til the end. Why would not surrendering bother you?
Seems everyone here figures out a way to complain about every game they're in.
"Why did you surrender so early?"
"Why did you boot my teammate?"
"Why don't you vote to end?"
"Why don't you play faster?"
"Why did you attack me?"
"Why don't you attack?"
"Why don't you surrender?"
It's like there's no room any more for threads about great games or strategy or anything remotely positive.

I wasn't complaining, merely amused by it. If they want to fight to the end then so be it... but I am going to entertain myself while they are stubborn.

It can definitely be tedious. It's one reason that single-player against the AI gets annoying fast... the AI keeps plugging along even though the game is clearly decided. I'll play for the challenge and to try new maps but I usually quit halfway through when I have sufficient control to make it boring.

Richard, perhaps they are being amused by the game instead and think you are being frustrated by them? The same as you think about them, that is. I, myself, of course surrender when I do not stand a chance any more, but on the occasion I continue on if it's almost done any way. Seems like your behaviour is more likely to get you on their blacklist than anything. They haven't done anything wrong.
