Are we losing anything with warzone? I have heard rumors that game like peacelight (a diplo where you're not allowed to declare war...mostly) and other mini-games won't be functional.

No.

EDIT: Well Map-making and making SP levels. But I am sure that is going to be added. Every other game-play feature is already in Unity.

TBest made a good sum up i feel like but he forgot to mention there will be additional features with the warzone launch and some of them might be a great addition for diplo games as well

There are some minor features that look like they have gone missing but it's likely for them to be moved to a different place. E.g. private chat has been moved to the main chat. You can see a button for private chat in the top right of the main chat.
Something that is completely missing is the no-luck graph and analysing attacks when there isn't any luck. There is a workaround for this if you view my profile and click on my player-supplied link.

what's peacelight?

One of Simon's mini-games. He makes them all the time, sometimes they are more conventional, sometimes not. For Peacelight, the idea is that you can't attack anyone. Funny right? Inevitably someone will not be able to stand it, or a fight will occur over booted-land, etc etc hilarity will ensue.

Another question:

How will mods work for non-members? Is it, if you're not a member, you can't play games with mods at all, or just that you can't start games with mods (similar to bomb cards).

I asked Fizzer how mods will work for non-members, and he said we'll see Monday

No mapmaking? What are we supposed to do with our in-progress maps?

fizzer tries to hold the flash client still running as opt-in if I understood him right, so you need to do mapmaking still in flash

My guess is after the release, Fizzer will work on tournaments. Then after that he’ll do map making.

It's the 13th already here. So when will it start?

My guess is either shortly before or during Fizzer's launch stream. Unless Fizzer set things up to launch overnight automatically, there might be a manual step where Fizzer has to change where Warlight traffic goes (which version of the Warlight app is served to everyone), etc.
