Few problems occurs in browser version using Unity, I have mailed you more details on it :) The color combination is kind of bad, black background was kind of better imo and apart from that, Warzone is nice and thanks for your efforts :)
I really like RT Quickmatches , and new features of Unity, chat or play card or see teammates' orders. I second the idea of having strat MME being the starting template, but I see no harm with it being the 4th template and having auto-pick small earth as starting isn't too bad for newer players.

The performance problem is real Are you talking about the startup time of the WebGL version? If so, then yes, I agree with you, and this is something I've been quite disappointed with as well. I've talked to the Unity team extensively about this, and done a lot of research into ways to make it faster. There is good news: it's only going to get better. There are several things coming that will improve it. One is cached webassembly, which will allow the app to start up very quickly on repeat loads. The Unity team is working on implementing this now. Another feature is called streaming compilation, which will allow the app to start compiling while downloading which will speed up the initial load dramatically. Browser vendors (Mozilla + Google) are working on adding this to their browsers now and they should start including it in new versions soon. Further I'm working on a new secret feature that might make for some dramatic speedups, but I can't talk much about that yet. Don't be that hard to yourself, I think all in all it is solid and something fresh. Wait for players to adapt to it. Thanks! I know change is hard. I am annoyed by the Coin Wheel. I do not want to spin it and watch videos, but it pops up every time I want to play. I'll make it back off for much longer. Thanks for the feedback. it happend once I couldn't spin the wheel after I watched the video. Ick, that's really bad. I'll look into this and give you some free coins now, please let me know if you see it again. I hate Small Earth and I think the template choice of the first templates is horrible Personally I quite enjoy it. The problem is, for every template in existance, there's someone who hates it. So no matter what template we put here, someone will have this opinion. would it be possible to make the hitbox of the refresh button on the multi player tab bigger? I keep clicking on the game underneath. Sure, I'll fix that. could you fix that the app keeps automatically turning eventhough I disabled the function on my phone Unfortunately Unity doesn't obey the Android orientation lock, which I was disappointed when I found out, too. I am surprised to get this feedback so often, I think only 2 people mentioned it during the last 8 months of testing the app. Then suddenly upon launch everyone is up in arms about it. Unlike most apps which get this feature for free, Unity apps have to code it in manually. I'll look into it. warzone is forcing emails on me even i have them all set to off android app was uninstalled because of this The only thing that was changed about the email system is that emails come from DoNotReply@warzone.com instead of DoNotReply@warlight.net. Emails are sent with the same frequency. Also, uninstalling the app won't change email delivery at all :) Perhaps you had a rule set up that was filtering emails from warlight.net, which needs to be updated to warzone.com?

Thank you for all your work on Unity, Fizzer! With Flash crashing left and right, it is a welcome update. :) A few issues I wanted to adress: 1/ The width of several pages is too small in my opinion. https://www.warzone.com/Play for example, or the public profiles. On Unity, I scroll down a lot, to access content that could be put on the empty left and right sides of my screen. 2/ It takes me 1 minute to load Unity on Firefox. I'm fine with it, but if I try to open a second game in a new tab, Unity loads again and I have to wait another minute. Is there any way to avoid that or is it a Unity thing? Ctrl+G works if I want to open the second game in the first tab, but I'd like to have multiple games in multiple tabs at the same time. 3/I feel like the community side and the game side are now completely disconnected on Unity. It has become really difficult to browse through a tournament, or the ladders, and to check a few games. Like I said in 2/, I have to copy/paste/Ctrl+G a game link if I don't want to load Unity again. Is is possible to include the community side inside Unity? Or to have them more linked perhaps?

My only real issue is that its INCREDIBLY slow. It's easily 10x slower than the old flash version. It takes 30 seconds just to start up, and then a solid 15 seconds to transition from game-to-dashboard. I know many other people are experiencing similar issues. I'm told there's a standalone version that you can download to your computer, and apparently that runs fine, so it might be a good idea to make that more readily available.

PSA: YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IN THE UNITY VERSION on your PC browser. Click your profile name on the upper right, then click Switch to Flash.
The standalone version is for members only.

The old Warlight
The old Warlight color scheme was elegant, clean and easy on the eyes, one could describe it as 'calm'. It mainly made use of a limited amount of colors (shades of red, blue and gray). The solid dark colored background with the light text colors was beautiful. The interface was made form boxes with straight defined borders which made it look very clean. The new Warzone (Unity)
The interface looks flashy, aggressive and messy, in German one would say "Klickibunti". It makes use of various colors (green, blue, red, yellow...) which are used inconsistently. The Backgrounds of the Multiplayer tab, the orders list and so on look like dirty sheets of paper with ragged edges, these combined with the green camouflage parts are probably the main factors which make the interface look messy. Excessive "eye candy" compared to the old version with the deployment slider as the best or should i say worst example is another factor why the new interface does not look elegant. Suggestions
* Solid dark gray backgrounds * Limited amount of colors (e.g. going with the new logo: bordeaux red, gold, silver) * Clear straight borders of different interface elements * Less eye candy (e.g. the old efficient deployment slider)

Unfortunately Unity doesn't obey the Android orientation lock, which I was disappointed when I found out, too. I am surprised to get this feedback so often, I think only 2 people mentioned it during the last 8 months of testing the app. Then suddenly upon launch everyone is up in arms about it I am not surprised at all. I play a good amount the mobile phone. A lot of people play only the mobile version. I assume most of the 8 month beta testers were playing on the standalone version. I did complain about this. But you replied along the lines of "Nothing I can do, that's how it is in Unity," and others stop complaining. The commit button is going to be a big issue for a lot of people. You'll start hearing A LOT more complaints, because the way the commit button is right now loses games. A majority of people will start clicking "commit" by mistake, then everyone will get up in arms about it. But I did get up in arms about it, and people like Mike were telling me "It's probably a matter of time. In the meantime you should lower your voice when you address to Fizzer, he's not your employee. " Well, here's the result. I lowered my voice. But now you'll receive lots of complaints.

What tends to be the bottleneck for the loading of the webgl page?
When I click play, it takes quite a while before it begins to fully utilize my cpu.
The part I find weird is that I can do it with task manager open and use a stopwatch and see that for the first 10 seconds my cpu usage stays under 5%, then it quickly ramps up to 99% around 10 seconds in and stays there for about 10 seconds, then it starts to drop, and finally finishes.
On Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit) that's about a 27 second load time, with my cpu only being put through its paces for 10 of those 27 seconds.
I saw you claim it takes you 5 seconds, what specs is that with?
My 27 seconds is on a i7-4700HQ clocked at 3.2 GHz on all 8 threads. I can't imagine anything being 5 times faster unless you're using a i7-8700K or something, and even that seems like a stretch to be 5x faster despite being a hexacore with 12 threads at 4.3 GHz. That should be more like 2x as fast.
If there was something I could do to make my laptops cpu zoom up to 100% utilization instantly and make the total time be 10-12 seconds I'd be much happier with that than a 27 second load time. But even a 27 second load time is fine, it's by no means long enough to make me want to stop playing. Many games take at least that long to load, and the webgl version is fats and responsive once loaded.

aoc: Solid dark gray backgrounds * Limited amount of colors (e.g. going with the new logo: bordeaux red, gold, silver) * Clear straight borders of different interface elements * Less eye candy (e.g. the old efficient deployment slider) Thanks! This is probably the best design feedback I've gotten. I think ths sums up what other people are trying to say in a way that's clear and elegant. When I designed WarLight many years ago, I intentionally tried to keep the UI as grayscale as I could (few colors), since I always felt that the map should be the colorful part that draws the player's eye. I didn't communicate this to the new designer, so that's probably how we ended up with this. Once the most critical issues are dealt with, I will revisit the UI. What tends to be the bottleneck for the loading of the webgl page? I think it's just the processing of the code. I'm not a browser engineer nor did I write the Unity conversion, but the code size is huge (bigger than it needs to be imo). I saw you claim it takes you 5 seconds, what specs is that with? That's in FireFox 58. Chrome is much slower for me, closer to what you see. When I talked to the Unity team, they passed along this project to both Mozilla and Google, so the Chrome team has at least seen this problem and will hopefully try to figure out why Chrome is so slow. By the way see https://www.warzone.com/wiki/WebGL for tips about measuring performance. If there was something I could do to make my laptops cpu zoom up to 100% utilization instantly I suspect this is what the streaming compilation feature will do. Right now it's doing the entire download, then starting to compile the code. Streaming compilation, as I understand it, makes those happen simultaneously.

Are you talking about the startup time of the WebGL version?
During play too, but only if played in browsers. Tried chrome, FF, edge, all of them are equally bad. They crash and eat up memory like crazy. Standalone runs decently, no crashing and way better fps
it would be great if its lighter in the future, maybe disabling some visual effects that are unwanted

Another UI nitpick: can we get word-wrapping in the 3-column profile? The words "alternate," "any", and "account," as well as the profile link, are split up and harder to read in my profile (see screenshot below). https://i.imgur.com/iZ6gsqT.png

I find the new colour scheme very distracting. While the motive of dark grey and dark green may look more "military" style, its alot harder to see things now than when it was the good high contrast black background/white text. Things just look all over the place, and my brain cant decide what to focus on; the ads on the side, or the background colours, or the post titles. Tl;dr: Old darker colours were much better than new colours
Loading the game took several minutes as opposed to 10 seconds for flash. Before, there were two tabs for real time and multiday games. Now, there is only a filter option, which takes longer to enable than simply switching between the tabs. If you enable both to show, they arent segregated and you can have realtime games show between the multiday games.
Also, ive never played coin games as I didnt think I had the skill yet necessary to win more coins than I'd lose, but I think demonetising coins is a bad idea, and really makes coin games no more special than normal games.

Fizzer, first of all, thank you for your constant hard work on improving the site. It has given me countless hours of fun.
I fell in love with Warlight because it was simple and elegant. The black background and no-frills setup gave it a pleasant air of seriousness. The old design was saying: "Yes, we don't care about some fancy design because it's all about playing the game."
Now it's all gone out the window. The chaotic color scheme and the ridiculous background "paper scrolls" look like something out of the games I played on Amiga in the early 1990s. It all looks incredibly amateurish.
The new design is a big step backwards. If you paid your designer $10, you paid $10 too much. Your original design was way better.

Fizzer, Here are some images from my post above. Arrows cover armies Army Count and Cards Hidden by the background Why is the font so freaking tiny? Everyone has big monitors now, real estate is no longer the issue it once was. I am not sure about recording screen video for click, I will look into it. I am using Chrome Version 61.0.3163.100 The busy marque. The first spot I can remember is when the gameboard is loading and you direct people to use firefox 58(this is a beta version, right. strange thing to suggest). Nothing happens, and my proc fan spins to hell! So I know your eating up memory and crushing my bandwidth, but its just a blank screen. The progress bar never changes.
