Ways to avoid being invited in tournaments?!?: 2012-01-28 20:15:06

Sorry if is a thread that's already been posted but I already tried to search for something similar with no results.

As a first thing... I blacklisted the players that used to invite me in tournaments.. that didn't do nothing.. I've left messages in the tournament chat and I told them to remove me from their friends list and they didn't.. that's why they got blacklisted in the first place..

Now I was thinking if I put my account on vacation will that have any results? And if not.. all I can do in the end is to delete my account which from my knowledge that can only be possible if you're not using your account for 3 months.. wish there was a button to do that..

anyway.. let me know if there's a way I can do this,

thanks in advance,

Cheers, Alex.

Some people change their name to something like "dont-invite-me" when they'll be inactive for a month or two and don't want to get booted. But I guess that's not what you are looking for.

When you're "on vacation" people can still invite you for games and tournaments.
If you want to delete your account, maybe send Fizzer a personal email with your request.

You could try putting a suggestion up on UserVoice.com.

Why is it a problem?
Can't you just turn notifications off?

FD, I've heard it voiced that people dislike having the note showing they have tourney invites, but also dislike having to constantly decline them...
I think an auto-decline feature for a profile would be nice... or perhaps even a *-hide from tourney invites-* feature, to prevent tourneys getting clogged with unwanted players.

I thought about that, but the OP was considering setting their account in vacation/deleting it as a solution, which seems to make that note irrelevant (since you can avoid seeing it just by not logging in).

Well.. deleting my account would be the last resort because I am annoyed by having to decline as much as 8 tourneys at times..

I don't even have those people at friends.. I never play with them and I don't want to have anything to do with them... I only like to play Real-Time games I don't like Tournaments because I feel obligated to come here everyday and check if someone did a move.

I don't like to waste people time or stall a game so that's why I feel like coming and checking that and that's the reason why I don't like to join Tournaments or other Multi-Day games.

So I guess there is no way I can stop people from inviting me..

Thanks everyone for your answers and for your time,

Cheers, Alex.

Alex, the problem isn't usually the hosts of the tourneys.. alot of them have forward invites turned on, so *anyone* they invite can invite you... what's more, if it's open with forward invites, anyone that sees it can join, and then invite you...

I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know !

Hopefully this will be fixed with a 1.10.1 updated (:

Cheers.

av isn't on my invite list. yet he's complained twice that i invited him to tournaments.

like i said before: if players can control which tournaments (1v1, team games, ffas, none) they can be invited to, it would be much better. in this case, av could just click "None, I don't want to be invited to any tournaments."

alex, just ignore the invites. you don't have to go in and decline them.

@Emperor B

I'm not sure if this was changed but from what I know players could had been forced to join. That's why I have to decline all the invites to not be forced to join then booted.

@Alexander, you can only be forced to join matches in a tournament AFTER you have accepted the invite. If you did not accept the invite you will not be forced to join a match.

You don't have to decline, you can just continue doing whatever it is that you are doing, and your status in the tourny will be "waiting to accept or decline". ONLY PLAYERS WHO ACCEPTED WILL BE FORCE JOINED INTO A TOURNAMENT. Thus you can just ignore it, and not take part in it.
