The Unity UI is good because it doesn't rely on Flash but I have a few suggestions for improvement:

Add a setting to make it go straight to "attack /transfer" mode. When you use ctrl+click to deploy armies you never need or want to be in deploy mode.

Add a setting to make it jump straight to "show all" when you commit - the animation is unnecessary for me.

Add a setting to disable the map scrolling when you release the mouse button - I find this unintuative. The map should only scroll when I click and hold the mouse.

And finally, it's quite slow and sluggish compared to the Flash version. The framerate is quite low. I'm using Pale Moon 27.6.0. Maybe it would be better in another browser but I don't want to switch browser - I get the impression the current code is quite inefficient (and I am somebody who does frontend HTML/JS dev for a living) - surely it can be made more efficient across browsers.

The project's called Cheetah; I think everyone could've guessed it has something to do with speed.

I disagree. The map scrolls in two cases:

1. If it's about to show you something that's off-screen
2. If it's about to show you something, but you're zoomed out too far to the point where you wouldn't be able to see it.

I believe the logic behind doing this is sound, but the implementation may not be perfect. You can tweak this through the Zoom Cutoff setting in the debug menu (Ctrl+Shift+E). If you want to experiment, let me know what the smallest value for this setting is that fixes the zoom for you.

I agree, I'm not satisfied with the performance of the webgl version either. This is something I plan on fixing.

No, if you click and drag the mouse button to scroll the map, then move the mouse and release the mouse button the map will often keep scrolling rather than stopping immediately. The latter behaviour is much more intuative imho.

This isn't star craft, you don't need to wildly, and accurately, fling your mouse around. This feels more natural to users, and aligns up with the mobile experience.
