Your picks were much better than in the other game you posted but your expansion left a lot to be desired.

You should have used your 2 starting spots in Africa to immediately start taking East Africa as that would have been the most efficient use of your armies at the beginning. Then you'd go after Scan and West Africa.

You took far too long to take East Africa. There's no way it should've been the 5th bonus you took.

N.B. Take the bonuses you start in first, then move on to the ones around them.

Thanks. Looking back i have no idea why i went towards western africa instead of the east that i started right next to. Besides that what could i have done better in turns 7-16?

Should i have expanded to Antarctica earlier, or not at all, or south america instead? Should I have just abandoned europe instead of fighting a losing battle or did i do okay there?

thanks for your help

When you blockaded Svalbard there was no need put any more armies into Scan. That was a waste of 15 armies!

Antarctica was grand for expansion. You *maybe* should have gone into SA in case He was in Central America.

You were right to keep battling in Europe but you should have given a much higher priority to the fight in Ant/Aus. You let him get another 5 per turn without a fight which generally isn't good :P

There's plenty more to say but I don't have time right now, maybe someone else can offer their advice

Not too bad overall, post more games in the future :D

Definitely the best game I've had so far. First time ive beaten a decent player.

I don't really see any big mistakes that I made but I probably missed some stuff cause i dont really know this game.

If you see any mistakes, even small ones please point them out.

you mean aside from the obvious choosing a wasteland bonus as your 5th pick...?

Tura was an obvious better choice, for possible bonus and countering possibilities, then ME.. the only advantage ME gave was to counter if he managed to get Scand-WR..
if you had gotten W.Af-Scand-ME, and he got N.af-W.Rus-Mex, Mex would of provided a useful bonus to defeat both the conflicts, while ME would provide no positive use..

only other immediate feedback I can see is to the other player..
placing the 2 units in Mexico on turn 2 was folly, since he should of used those to counter a possible attack from C.Rus, and/or guarantee a sucess in capturing W.Rus.. he was relying too much on that 3v2 attack imho.

if lunatikkkk had gone for the turn 1 scan, turn 2 central am, you'd be in trouble, but instead he didnt get a bonus for 2 turns.

Lykus try to pick only in bonuses with good value/#territories (3for4 or 4for5) and avoid ones with wastelands. As you get more experience, you will learn when other choices can be good (counter-picking etc...)

Well in almost every game so far, i've gotten my first 3 picks, sometimes the 4th, but never a 5th.

I think it turned out to be a pretty useful pick to break his bonus's early on.

If i had gone for the starting position in europe or greenland, it would be a 1-1 going into his Scandinavia bonus and i wouldn't be able to break that with his superior income.

By starting in the middle east it only took 2 turns to border his bonus and it was a 3-1 border in favor of me so I could easily break through and disrupt two of his bonus's.
