To reason and to worship God. To give a more detailed answer, I would have to consult some long lost notes.

There is no point in life. We are just animo acids that evolved to thinking beings. If we live or die, doesnt matter at all to the universe.
One being can make "goals" in their lifes, in order to satisfy the arbitary collection of electric impulses in their head, but that serves no greater purpose, but just own survival.

''Life is not about the destination,it is about the journey, and the friends you make along the way.The search for meaning is in fact the very meaning that gives our life meaning. So really , the only true meaning of life is finding your own way to enjoy it''

Some 2750 years ago Isaiah said be righteous.

When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil learn to do good; seek justice , correct oppression; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.

So that is an answer. Do good, be just, defend those without defense, plead for those who have no one to speak for them. All those many years ago it was a good answer, and it still is.

It is not the only answer.

But It's a start.

If something doesn't "matter" to the universe, then some things do matter, or it is possible that they matter, since you have invoked a universe with its own valuation. What matters then, if not life? You say that electric impulses in the head have one purpose, but they indeed have a purpose, if just one purpose. You bestow valuation upon humans and the universe; things mattering and not mattering. as if there is some perfect design. That is the contradiction: there is a point to life by your own logic.

Not exactly what I meant. I simply wanted to say that there is no one point of life. Everyone makes their own point of life.
For Tabby its to exterminate everyone.
For Cruelest its to worship God.
For you its to gas the Kikes.
For Kilos its memes.
For Belgian its sex.
etc.

To be fair to Cata Cauda the notion that life is meaningless has an impressive history. With but a little latitude in how we understand the question we could include people as diverse as Albert Camus & the author of Ecclesiastes. An answer to the question, "what is the point of life?", is apt to be personal. I could as easily ask, what is the point of my life, instead of asking what is the point of life.

Camus opens his essay The Myth of Sisyphus, with these words:

There is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy. All the rest — whether or not the world has three dimensions, whether the mind has nine or twelve categories — comes afterwards. These are games; one must first answer.

Camus was a direct man. His concern was with the thought that might lead to suicide, and he offered his answers. His notion was that if a person judges that life is not worth living, then they are naturally apt to kill themselves. Now, to be clear, asserting that life is meaningless is not at all the same as telling us that life is not worth living. I acknowledge the point. But spanning the distance from the one proposition to the other does not involve leaping over a fathomless abyss.

I have a fondness for the essay. The opening four sentences demand that you consider what Camus has to say. It is a demand which is almost irresistible, regardless of what you make of his conclusions and evidences.

In the case of Ecclesiastes the author opens with some of the most famous words in English literature.

The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. kgv

One translation renders the passage as:

Meaningless! Meaningless, says the Teacher. Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless. niv

Camus and the author of Ecclesiastes are not feckless provocateurs, although they are deliberately provocative.

You could do worse for company.
