Warlight used to have 5 times more players online! In any time of the day, I was able to play a 10-player diplo or a good team game. I remember awesome ww2 team games every other night! I never see them now. What happened?

Since Warlight 2 - everything went to shit. I don't really see any significant changes. The game is slower in some aspects, faster in others. Not that I really care for saving 5 seconds.

I'm left wondering what happened.

Did all these players quit because they hated "warzone"?
Did they transfer somewhere else?

The game always slows down around the holidays, since people are busy doing family stuff. This isn't new, it happens every Thanksgiving/Christmas/etc. So if you're looking at this week, that's likely why.

If we exclude this week, total games being played per day has actually gone up since the launch of Warzone.

^has the number of total players that have been active for at least 30 days increased since Warzone was released as well?

Can't really deny that Warzone is growing. I think the reason it seems to be shrinking to some of us is that we're not really in touch with the new cohort (people say the diplo community is dead/dying, for example, but it's really just the case that the torch has been passed on to a new generation of crazy 14-year-olds) and the people we used to play with have had a ton of retirements over the years. There's a lot of disconnected active communities on this site.

Yeah, I discovered a whole new community the other day. It even had its own "official warlight server". It was a bunch of s*itposting, but nevertheless, it proves the point that there is quite a bit of disconnect on this site.

Yeah, I never see some players I used to play with before. However, I've met some new people who play well and seem to know each other. I suppose this is how warlight works, I haven't been active for a few months also.

There is an ugly setting called filters (edit: the prereq / open seat settings). In short, the fact that you have

This player has been booted 101 times (42%)
1v1: 2 / 15 (13%)

means that a bunch of games are hidden from you.

While for europe AD, i still spy the occasional game, but I bet many play ror games instead. The solution is just to host such games yourself (and if you can't, then level up and then host such games)

^ this. It is never a bad idea to get started with auto games because it uses the most standard strategic template. Raises your game count, helping you pass the filters, and you can learn something while at it.

@cosmo - one of the pearls of wisdom that Warlight throws at you is that it is better to surrender than to be booted. Your boot rate is so high that you cannot see many of the open games that are available at any given time. My suggestion to you would be to scrap your current WL account and create a new one - level up quickly, and do not get booted. No one wants to play a team game with a teammate that has a 40% likelihood of being booted... gl
