Yesterday I unlocked a new map on QM, as RT games are to risky at the moment, app got frozen 2 times and until I could restarted it I got booted, so I play QM only Multiday. The problem is a unlocked map is automatically selected and so I had no chance to decline this new map before I get a game with it! Shit happens sometimes, play at least a few games for practice. Now comes the really unfair part, I need at least L56 to create a game. I think this QB guy did it to give no low-level player the chance to create one. Maps like this one should kicked out off QM.
Yeah that qb guy always creates templates and maps that give no other player than himself any chance. I always lose against him! I could practise his maps and templates but i'm too lazy which is unfair as well. Maybe a ban on that qb guy would be more appropriate than banning his template from qm. Would also raise my winrate
That's not the point, if I had created a map with such an uncommon bonus system I would give everyone the chance to create games with it. @buns157, master of Desaster and the other one. You guys are kidding me, thank you very much :P
Well so I'm guessing the map here is America Biomes and if I'm right here's what probably happened:
QB created the map. Since INSS maps aren't all that popular outside players who are already familiar with strat, he set the level requirement at 56.
Since those types of players (good ones, who are less averse to weird templates) are also going to dominate the QM leaderboards, they voted that map into QM. But you still can't create games with it.
Nothing deliberately manipulative here, just a probably unintended consequence of two design decisions interacting with each other.
I think the elegant solution here would be Fizzer either letting people create (practice?) games on any QM template, or you unselecting all other QM templates and joining QM with America Biomes so you can get practice games on that template through QM itself. Like the others said, don't sweat your rating too much as QM's rating system isn't a good skill-based system.
@Tito the point is not the bonus system, the point is that I get a game I don't wanna play but have to and not even can create practice games on my own, I think that should be at least possible. I unselected it now but it was too late, I already got that one game.
@knyte The best solution would be if new unlocked templates not would be selected automatically. I want decide myself what template I wanna play.
never understood the guys that purposefully lock their maps (that they worked hard on, put a lot of effort in, some can be called art) to high levels for no reason.
@Master[QB] forgot that Master thing in my first post, sorry about that! I think there is enough advertisement in the app so @fizzer will survive without my support. What I not understand that some sort of... I better not complete the sentence, not think about player who not have his profile full of nice golden trophys (congrats you are really a good player) and set that level so ridiculous high :'(
@master of desaster It's a good trick not to complete sentences, let a little room for your imagination :')
@Master[QB] thanks, it won't help for my actual game because it already started, but perhaps I will give it a try besides the QM, so my rating is already spoiled but it is a nice system worth looking a little closer as normal multiday game :)
You should also check out Master Mania and Issander's Africa (when you can?), as they use the same bonus system. Once you get used to it, it's really fun.
