Yes i hate it

I usually say it after my opponent says it, unless I thought it was a poor game in which case I don't say it at all!

I don't mind "gg". I see it as an example of good sportsmanship. Now and again a rival player will offer a complement, which is always nice. The following comments were directed at me during two recent games.

I hate you, good strategy.

Fuck this I'm done. No fucking way you deployed 10 on turn fucking one, and keep pumping them (out) like that.

The second comment was prompted by my opening position, during a 4 player FFA.

At the beginning I wondered what that gg means but now I know :)
I am not sure if I should use it if it was definitely no good game?

^For instance what do you say when your opponent has lost but insists on you spending a dozen turns pounding them into the sand.

Do you give them a lite dusting of NaCl?

Well, if you don't say anything then in my book it's like pulling the plug which I find pretty rude.

gg is good because it can mean so many things depending on how you use it or in the context :)

You probably right @Norman I will try to use it more in future, often I just use 'bye' or 'have a nice day' or in a couple of games I get a little bit rude because I am not a really good loser, I shouldn't do that in future too, after all it is just a game :)

For me, it is matter of sportmanship. I say gg all the time unless opponent is booted.

A little onion is fine, but to much is just upsetting and can make some ppl cry!
gg can be annoying, I have noticed that is doesn't seem to be said quite as much anymore. maybe about 30% less and dropping. when it is a good game its fine, but when its a 3v3 and someone got booted or you had horrible starts from the beginning its just annoying.

I don't think "gg" and "good game" are so literal... It's just a polite thing you say when a game ends. Like you still say "good morning" to someone even if it's cold and rainy and your dog pooped on your couch.

Yeah, I take it more as "thanks for the game" and say it 90% of the time win or lose. I also try to say hi when the game starts. It may be perceived negatively if you say "gg" after a win and it was the only thing you said in the chat.

The one thing I don't like is when random teammates say "gg" before the game officially ends.
