Congratulations Wally Balls! 24 wins at >1 a day, and only one loss, is seriously impressive stuff. Shame about the title of this thread, but who cares. The trophy is yours, and it's well deserved.
thanks. unfortunately all i've learned is that i vastly overvalued the ladder and implied skill of those who get high ratings. i've simply had an extremely hot run at the exact right time on the ladder games specifically. my auto games are not going nearly as well.
i guess people who stay at the top for a long time is another matter, but hitting it briefly is clearly mostly about luck.
you should have to play more games before you are ranked or have your rating suppressed if you are obviously just hot.
and fuck 3 day turns as the default. people might need the full 3 days sometimes but 95% of the time it's used, it's to stall. give a 3-day card every 8 turns and then 1 day turns.
3 days is fine, I play MD games so I don't have to always pay attention to WL. I'm pretty sure this game for the most part has a slightly older demographic and most people that play don't have the time to stalk on their games. Of course some people legitimately stall, but I disagree a ton with the thought that most cases of slow play are stalling.
It is Bayesian elo. So points you/win lose depend on your opponents rating and also on how much games you already have completed. On a special note, rating is way more precise, of your average opponents rating is close to your own.
