i am trying to enter a map to warlight but it says it is invalid or corrupted (it is svg)

Does Inkscape open the svg file successfully? Are you sure you saved it as an svg file correctly in Illustrator - i.e., not just renamed an illustrator file to a .svg extension?

If it's really just a corrupt svg, the way to diagnose this issue, if you're technical enough, is to rename the file to .xml and open it in an xml viewer. This will tell you where in the file the corruption is. Since xml is human-readable, it's often easy to correct in a text editor.
