A regulated drone milita for every western country to possibly fight the government. Who agrees?

First and Second Indochina wars, Cuban Revolution, Soviet-Afghan war, Second Gulf War, US intervention in Afghanistan, 2006 Israeli-Hezbolla war.

All examples of lightly armed militias using guerrilla tactics to defeat or humiliate into retreat a superior military force that had drones, nuclear weapons, tanks, and navies. US Civil War ll would be no different.

The US military could not pacify Iraq, a country of 25 million people in 2003 even with the help of the Kurds and Shias, and you think it could pacify the USA, a country of 312 million people that is 22 times larger than Iraq, while all of the US food and oil supply is in rural aka red areas.

All it would take to overthrow the US government is AR-15s. Nothing more and nothing less.

Of course Iraq and in fact any other non-nuclear state can be "pacified" (the proper term is subdued) easily..with hundreds of millions of bullets. The same applies to nuclear states using nukes assuming that you aren't afraid of getting nuked.

So whether this works mostly depends on how brutal your opponents are prepared to be and what price they are prepared to pay. If you have no nukes you can't deter people hellbent on simply genociding you.

Agreed, but that scenario is highly unlikely. Let's say American Civil War 2.0 happens; what's the Union gonna do, nuke us? Are they gonna genocide 200 million people and hope the world just ignores it? Even if they did, how would they then provide for the cities with all the farmers, ranchers, truckers (not that there would be anything left to ship), miners, lumberjacks, etc., dead or imprisoned? The economy would crumble, famine would sweep the country, the US would likely be one of the biggest importers of foreign aid, a full 180 from what it is now.

You need a high dose of collective sociopathy and very low level of asabiyah to degenerate into pure Hobbesianism which is unavailable outside a few particularly harsh and sociopathic regimes such as North Korea.
