since barely any US-American could even find Austria on a map

You watch too much YouTube. Most Americans can identify most basic countries. Most people who can't are ignorant city goers from LA and NY. I mean, I'm just a young guy from rural Oklahoma, and I can successfully identify every country, save for a few Caribbean islands.

The idea that Americans can't find Austria on a map, true or not, isn't even relevant to the conversation. You just enjoy making digs at Americans at every given opportunity.

Can the average Austrian identify every US state? I'm gonna wager no (and that is an entirely fair comparison, as most states are similar in size, and there's roughly the same number of states as there are countries in Europe).

Point is, it's irrelevant to the topic at hand, and we're all getting tired of this anti-US rhetoric. We get it, you hate us. Let it die.

As for those of you saying media bias doesn't exist: explain, then, how the YouTube shooter--who was a female, Muslim, vegan, liberal, animal rights activist, PETA member, who used a 9mm (not an AR-15) in a gun free zone, in a state with already-strict gun laws--has received next to no media coverage?

You watch too much YouTube.

And you like to stereotype people, while critising me for doing so. I dont watch YT at all.

Besides Clint, can you and the average US-American identify every Chinese province? I am gonna wager no. And thats more than a fair comparison, since most of them have the population and GDP of entire countries.

It's not though. Europe is not a single country and never acts as one, even EU members have their own foreign policies, own currencies and so on. US on the other hand. If anything, a comparison would be between states of US and German Bundesländer. Or states of US and federal subjects of Russia.

I believe it is, given the vast size, influence, and popularity of the US. But that's beside the point. I already said it was irrelevant, but that's the only topic people are addressing.

RT is best international news source.

Just a stream of minor terrible events in America and Britain in RT English.

RT Français is rather more balanced, however, and I hear RT Español is the same.

Not only are the much less biased (in the case of Austria there is probably no bias at all, since barely any US-American could even find Austria on a map, even if it was a map of Austria), but they also stick to the truly relevant topics.

This is true. Problem is finding foreign news that cares about your country AND writes in a language you can read (and if your country is caught up in something that is leading everyone to care about it, chances are there will have to be some bias).

the YouTube shooter--who was a female, Muslim, vegan, liberal, animal rights activist, PETA member, who used a 9mm (not an AR-15) in a gun free zone, in a state with already-strict gun laws--has received next to no media coverage

why is this important? but when it first happened Meduza (Russian news) had an URGENT NEWS about it, which is the most that really should be for such a rather insignificant event.

I already said it was irrelevant, but that's the only topic people are addressing.

yeah it's irrelevant. hold on let me write 8 sentences replying one minor quip you said.

In many cases I find them more informative then their US counterparts. Not only the great comedic value of having experts trying to explain how Trump won, but also trying to explain his tweets :D

Germany and Norway are too allied with America to be much better. But yeah, I hear in EU they love to forget on their own problems and focus on America and Russia.

WP. Well, after the election they changed their tagline to Democracy Dies in Darkness.

Ironically, when I first visited that website and saw that motto, I was using dark theme. Fitting.
