I wonder if anyone would mind making a Ankh-Morpork map. The map used in the Ankh-Morpork board game has 12 areas, so it would have to be small (to fit the books, you could not have, for instance 'Lower Shades').

For a look at the board game map please go to google and type 'ankh-morpork board game map'. It is the fourth result.

The map you meant is broken, you can only get a view of a very small version of it, and that's not large enough to make a nice map on. And I also don't like the 12 territories idea, there are enough tiny maps on Warlight. Maybe a map based on the city blocks would be an idea?
That could be based on [this](http://discworldtraveler.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/ankh-morporkmap.jpg) map, and with some cool tool you can even make the background image visible in the map. And you can point out the larger regions to make bonuses of.
Who volunteers?

I can't see the map atm because I'm on my phone but I'm very tempted by this :D I love the discworld series. When I see the map I'll decide if this will be my first foray into the world of map-making :P

Woah, that map is pretty big. I don't think I'll attempt this as my first map :P Maybe after I get more experience, if someone else hasn't got it done by then.

No, it's [not](http://i42.tinypic.com/2wbuvck.png). :)

In general, it's a bad idea to describe links like that; Google will rank results differently based on several factors, including (their best guess of) the geographical location of the client, several language-related criteria and so forth. And, as this example shows, it's also constantly updated.

To include a link directly you have two options, just copy-paste it here as text (then it will appear as text, but also automatically become clickable) or write some text between square brackets (these things: "[" and "]") and then put the address you want to link to right behind it between parentheses (these things: "(" and ")"). Don't worry, you don't have to remember the details; below the box where you write your post is a "Quick markdown reference", making links is explained there as well.

Hmm, wasn't Terry Pratchett English? Judging by the number of "cesta", "ulica" and "most" on this map, it's from a translated version (definitely Slavic, not sure which language exactly... Slovakian maybe??). Since English is the original language, wouldn't it be better to use English names for the territories and bonuses? I found a map of [Ankh-Morpork with English labels](http://imageshack.us/f/526/ankhmor.gif/), but especially the centre of the map is very crowded and difficult to read. Also, it's rotated 90 degrees relative to the map Moros linked. :(

Okay seriously, this forum needs an ability to edit posts! :s

[Here](http://home.uninet.ee/~ronin/stuhv/Terry%20Pratchett/Discworld%20Art/Maps/The%20Streets%20Of%20Ankh-Morpork%20-%20%20A%20Discworld%20Mapp.jpg) is the English-labelled version of the exact same picture Moros linked (on an Estonian server, of course :p ).

[This](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=10363) is a very rough outline of the map RvW posted, based on city blocks. Looks like it would be between 100-150 territories. Was this the sort of thing you were looking for, Ilumeo?

Ok.
RvW:Thanks for the tips, that was my first post.

Muppet: Yes. Great map. for major bonuses I was thinking Ankh, Morpork and The People's Republic of Treacle Mine Road (Night Watch). What are the blue things in the river?

If I can guess: just markers to show it *is* a river, not a normal territory.

I suppose this is me volunteering then. RvW is correct, I just made a quick drawing and wanted to show that those weren't territories. Let me work some magic and I'll see what I can come up with. I will probably want some help eventually with naming things and inserting things that are relevant to the story, as I don't remember.

I update the map preview as I go along, so you can see the progress I've made.

As you can see, I've changed many of the territories for a variety of reasons;

|>-to avoid intersections with four or more territories (please tell me if these are not obvious enough)

|>-to keep bridges between two territories

|>-to keep bonuses reasonably obtainable

|>-simply to keep the map from getting too boxy

You can also see that I've numbered all the territories, so if you have suggestions for naming them you can easily post them here.

Those are the weirdest bonus links I've ever seen. What are they? A cloud or something?

Outline of some animal. It looks vaguely familiar, I bet it's considered an icon of the Discworld series or something.

They were actually just something I had traced out for a different map. I was waiting for someone to comment on them. Before I finish I will swap them out for something more relevant.
