Where can I find some history on the ladders?

When did each ladder start? When did the MDL start? When did the 2v2 ladder and the 1v1 ladder switch to SR? Are there any other changes I am missing?

Official ladder edits typically happened with updates, and those you can find on the Warzone Blog (https://www.warzone.com/blog).

The major changes (and many of the minor ones) also had forum threads discussing them, which you can find in this forum since it's been around since 2011. You can also check the ladder game history pages (e.g., https://www.warzone.com/LadderGames?ID=1&Offset=19850) to find the earliest games.

Chronology (going through blog and forum, will keep editing this post):
The 1 v 1 Ladder's been around since update 1.0 (launched 02/19/2011): https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/02/announcing-the-warlight-ladder-part-1-of-2/

Luck was originally 18% WR (Strat ME, Random move order), but reduced to 16% WR on 02/26/2011: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/02/announcing-release-1-00-3-markdown-ladder-improvements-and-more/

The 2 v 2 Ladder was up and running on 03/11/2011

There were polls on adding the Blockade Card to the ladder and switching to Elo rather than Bayeselo on 03/22/2011: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/03/ladder-players-be-sure-to-vote/

Update 1.3 (04/30/2011) significantly revamped the 2 v 2 Ladder template: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/04/announcing-warlight-1-3/

Update 1.4 (05/25/2011) added the ladder history graphs and updated the matchmaking algorithm: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/05/announcing-warlight-1-4/

Update 1.6 (09/05/2011) changed the expiry window for the 2 v 2 Ladder from 3 months to 5: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/09/announcing-warlight-1-6/

Update 1.7.2 (09/27/2011) changed the starting armies on the Strategic 1v1 template from 5 to 4: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/09/upcoming-1v1-ladder-setting-change/

Update 1.8 (10/30/2011) added the Notable Victories table: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/10/announcing-warlight-1-8/

Update 1.9 (11/27/2011) introduced the first Seasonal Ladder (on Light Fog Strat ME 16% WR with 0 neutrals and Cyclic move order) and changed the 2 v 2 Ladder starting armies from 5 to 4: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/11/announcing-warlight-1-09/

Season I had Bayeselo like the main ladders but Fizzer considered TrueSkill for Season II (https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2012/01/trueskill/)- which would later get used on the Real-Time Ladder.

Update 1.10 (01/26/2012) raised the minimum number of games to get ranked on the 1v1 ladder, as well as the number of games per season on the Seasonal: https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2012/01/warlight-update-1-10/
