Just wondering why Gui called his topic *Don't be a Bastard* while his name means William the Bastard in French, or **William the Conqueror**, as most of us know him.

Either it is incredibly well chosen, hinting that by following the guide you won't meet Gui's standards, or it's just a lucky shot.

As for the topic's content, I like the concept. Warlord apparently doesn't see it's not a genuine advice: Gui is often criticised for using many words and now mocks those people.

However, there are some methods he mocks that he uses as well. The use of Latin, as RvW pointed out already, is a good example, although bèta-male and homosexual are indeed derived from Greek.

And actually, it's pretty hard not to use Latin terms, since Latin, through French, which came into England thanks to **William the Conqueror** (oh, the irony!) has sunk its teeth into the English language and left some scars.
It would make more sense to make this point in the Netherlands or Germany, where French and Latin terms **are** often abused to sound more intelligent.

And I don't understand where the clan remark comes from either...

If you have a problem with a player, just blacklist him.

(I didn't actually read the post, it was too long, so I gave a generic answer, was it on point?)

Er, no, the post is a satirical guide in which Gui impersonates his rhetorical opponents, like RvW and me. (seeing how lengthy yet organised the post is)

+5 to the OP for using the word "interlocutor." -6 for using it so many times. +2 for being a funny post.

Domenico's shorter post is correct. The original post was written hastily. What I had in mind about Latin-based words would've been better written as:

If you disagree with the writer, using "contradiction," "illogical," or other Latin-based words *learned in Logic 101* are great ways to prove that you are in fact more intelligent.

Tautologically true. ;) In cases where you're not just intelligent but also happen to actually be *right*, there are of course various ways to [proof](http://school.maths.uwa.edu.au/~berwin/humour/invalid.proofs.html) this.
