You don't think Japan and Taiwan are developped? I mean that's pretty much how every country works aside from very rich ones that don't need to and lost the tradition.
Okay, you got me here. Let me reduce that to western countries.

The people who actually pay into the system are 20-60 something, usually male. Less children means less people paying in; that is not good if you're retired and on social security.
The economy expands with a growing population (of culturally compatible and intelligent people) so there would be more wealth if people had children, it would just cost short term as people don't start paying in until they go into careers. Long-term, there would be more and more wealth to retire on.
Post-boomers don't honestly expect to retire on social security which they've paid in over their lives; the government will continue to borrow that money, expecting future generations to someday form a fiscally responsible government and pay the deficit they've created. You cannot expect a democratic government, one in which promises which politicians need not ever fulfill for their short tenure are necessary to buy off the voting urban proletarian population i.e. the majority of the population. However unlike the government, one's own children are usually reliable, and not just as a source of financial support but lifestyle support i.e. making life worth living.
Saving one's own wealth is a fair gig, and necessary, but maximizing one's wealth in old age and improving life involves having children for the those two reasons 1)population growth drives economic expansion 2)family improves life. The financial question over having children is just one of short-term vs long-term investment. Also I do not think it would be silly to suggest that perpetuating life and laying down something which continues past one's physical life is an ennobled deed.

If by coin you mean one of those fake million dollar bills that tells 'em about Jesus (the kind people leave as tips sometimes), sure. Plenty of times. :') doing my part for humanity and immortality, the asshole way my flawed sense of morality (and blatantly made-up-by-idiots-and-socipaths belief system) tells me to. Guess we ain't so different.

Doesn't factor in how the economy grows with a growing population. You would be surprised to find out shoring up birth rates in the West is a raw deal for everyone.
also everyone's a GNATZEE as far as the internet is concerned

Odd that there's this funny correlation both within and between societies when it comes to birth rates and poverty. Last I checked it's usually the people popping out a dozen kids that die poor and pathetic.
Maybe that says something about how much of an idiot you need to be to demand that people care about "potential" children. Plus we're close enough to full automation at this point that we'd honestly have failed at our jobs if there's higher than 70% employment in two generations.
Could really afford already to kill 95% of the human population and come out better for it per capita.

Though abortion should be allowed if the mother is going to die.
That sounds fair doesn’t it?
Want an abortion just because you don’t want a kid? Don’t get pregnant. If you use protection and it still happens as an accident, if you don’t want a kid, giving them up for adoption is an option.
Though the way orphans are cared for doesn’t seem to be the best.
