I don't understand why people in Belgium would be so happy that they beat Brazil
because we won.
winning a match -> belgians happy
losing a match -> belgians sad
goes for every match
I can argue that football is an unpredictable sport. Any team can win at any time that's true. Hence why rankings should not really matter to determine the winner of any world cup match. Russia was ranked 43th for example but still managed to go as much to the quarter finals because they re-organised. Russia's usual 3-5-2 was switched to a 4-3-2-1 composition which allowed the Russian team to push its fullbacks more aggresively along the flanks. Overall the rankings are just a number. It has been stated before but football is not a game that is won by odds but by skills and tactics. If Russia were to stick to its original 3-5-2 compisition which Russia has been characterised for years they would have faced more challenges in this world cup.
rankings= total bs
I can recall there was one world cup where nobody from the top 10 elo ranking made it to either the 1st , second, third or fourth place. Just further proves that rankings are unreliable as football is such an unpredictable sport that cannot be determined by rankings.
But if you played Brazil 10 times then Brazil would win 7 of those games.
I'm pretty sure you made those odds up
