As some of you may not know, Beren and Deadman have recently stepped down from the Clan League council. Taking their words from the CL Discord server:

"We started running Clan League because it is a great competition, but mostly because we wanted to give back and strengthen the amazing Warlight community. It is the most competitive event in Warlight and nothing gets people engaged like it. We saw an opportunity to improve the competition and hope that we have been able to do so in our time at the helm. Deadman in particular has spent thousands of hours working on this, building two distinct CLOTs as well as dealing with the brunt of the day to day criticisms. However, running a league (and Clan League in particular) is a thankless job, and after two years of it we have run out of steam. Therefore we will be stepping down effective immediately."

For me, They've been an amazing duo putting in thankless hours to running the league that we've all enjoyed throughout the past 2 years. The league has undoubtedly gone from strength to strength, from the old making tournaments to an actual CLOT system http://clan-league.westus.cloudapp.azure.com/ . From dealing with past incidents to present incidents that are time-consuming with the most professionalism and sincerity. To see there commitment and work ethic to making this league a joy to play in is both amazing and it's beyond any doubt they've contributed to the improvement of the league.

Thank you for everything and I respect both of your dedication, commitment and patience.

You guys definitely gave back to the community. Thanks a lot for all your hard work, guys! Probably more hours went into it than any of us know. Even spending money to keep the CLoT running. Sad to see you guys step down, but nobody will keep doing this thankless job forever. You guys changed and improved Clan League a tremendous amount, a simple thank you doesn't really do you right.

Beren and Deadman, enormous thanks to you for what you've done for this community!

Both of you have done more for the community than anyone else in probably all games out there. Thank you very much its beyond me how much you have done for us. really. Timewise, moneywise and everything. And always with an amazing attitude thorwards everyone even many of our questions have been stupid/able to find it if we would just read a bit more.

So thank you very much and i stil hope i will see both of you around in discords and in the game since well... you guys are GOATS.

I appreciate their efforts greatly. I know first hand how much work it can be and how much crap people can give you. They have made CL better than it was before, and I thank them for that.

I just hope Fizzer picks this up and makes it official some day.

Indeed! Well-deserved thanks for all their hard work. Don't worry, CL will continue. Beren and MOTD built the foundation that will continue for a long time to come.

Elegy to Deadman and Beren

Here lie Deadman and Beren
two organizers beyond mortal compare
For friend and community they built Clan League
with dedication and sacrifice exceedingly rare.

Upon carpet out of the Indies
flew Deadman with his technological wizardry
Whilst by his side strode Erchamion
to offer his only hand when Deadman grew weary.

Through long nights and strife
neglecting vacation and wife
They created ONE gem for all.

But at the End of all Things
fire and rage stretched its wings
And burnt them down to a stall.

Let us remember what they gave
next time before we fall into a rave,
Their contributions preserve
asking what we've done to deserve.
For when the Dead truly die and mortal Man sails into the West,
heroes will once more be needed to take up the quest.

Big thanks for CL10 and MDL CLOTs. These are huge steps forward for all the WZ community.

Unfortunately I haven't been around long enough to see the difference between how it used to be and how it is now and thus I can only judge what there is right now. CL and everything else we have and that you two have been involved in is great! There is no doubt that to a very big extent this is your merit. I can only imagine the time and effort that you have spent.

So thank you, you did it extraordinarily well!
