I do hate when people whine to me about stalling prematurely. I have a wife and two kids and work full time. Sometimes I may take a turn or two extra when I know I am behind, but maybe they'll make a mistake because it isn't decided yet. Sometimes when I check back in the history, I realize the game was over even before that.

Oops, is that really a big deal to someone that they need to call me out? I get it if the person is a chronic staller, which I am not. I simply get busy. I can't recall EVER winning a game via boot because I didn't take my turn. I usually take turns pretty fast actually, unless I take on too many games.

Just make sure you are positive someone is stalling before you call them out, or say GG or something else. Remember they do have the right to play to the end if they want, even if it is hosey. It's like flicking someone off for not letting you into traffic. They don't HAVE to. Sure, it is a dick move, but you calling it out (flicking them off) isn't going to make it better. It will only make it worse. Far better to point out someone chronic in a forum setting than screw yourself over in a game.

How can one say that its wrong to post it on the forums? And i really dont think its any need to talk to anyone of the players in that game before posting it. He dont need to talk to JJJ about it since he spoke for himself in the game, both with words and with actions. Stalling is so boring and lame so it should be pointed out when it happens, hopefully we can get a rule about it where it says like "stalling to get advantages in any ladders in form of ranking, rating or thropies is against the rules" people dont need to decide what exactly stalling is but in some cases people even admitts that they stalled and that should be punished.

And yes i also get that the other guy did a mistake with calling him out, but he did it like 7 turns after the game was over. And i don think he was to much of a dick in the chat, didnt he even pretty much apologize and try to get the game going while JJJ kept staling and played until he got the trophy.

Its stupid to say that this just conserns MH/101st or the two players since a trophy is a warzone thing. even if they dont mean the world they stil mean things to many people.

And i dont think people would care to much if it wasnt about him stalling to get the trophy. If it was like a normal MDL game or something like that at least i wouldnt care to much. But this is admitted stalling where he did it and won a trophy for it. OF COURSE it should be a thread about it but i understand and agree that the thread could be written in a diffrent way. But the point is stil there and many people here just ignore the point completely just due to the fact that it was plat who wrote this. If pretty much anyone else wrote it, people would have reacted diffrently. Its amazing how people tend to fight the topic writer rather than the issue :P

If you make rules, they have to be equal for everyone. A stalling rule can't only apply to top 10 of the ladder (as much as I would like that). For all rules regarding stalling the MDL is the same, in terms of it also giving a trophy. Saying you only care about stalling on one of those ladders makes it appear as if you care more about the individual and consequences then the actual severity of any stalling. They fight the topic writer, because (many of) the post(s) made in this thread appears as personal attacks.

EDIT: The thing is that we could 'fix' stalling in several way's, but all the fixes comes with downsides. Different boot time, rating system, games at a time, force finish etc. all have drawbacks. Currently, we seem to prefer allowing stalling.

Tbest: I didnt say the rule shall just be for top 10! I said this became a community problem when he gained a trophy for it. And i and others cared more about it since he gamed so much on his "smart" stallingstrategy.

"stalling to get advantages in any ladders in form of ranking, rating or thropies is against the rules"

^This is not for only top 10, this is for anyone who stalls to gain rating, ranking or trophies. And stalling to show a point should also be there.

Cowboy yes. Game was over on picks and turn 5 it was dead. He kept playing RT for 6 turns more, which is completely fine with me, then it was like completely dead, no rescue in the horrisiont, hopeless, and he left the RT and didnt surrender.
