I don't know why mtuborg is being labelled the "toxic player" for simply complaining about an issue that affects players daily in the real-time open games section.

Nobody "bullied" Ralph, the comments were never meant to be personal.

In regards to the community trying to define stalling, I think my personal belief is to simply have a panel to review individual stalling cases, review each case on a number of factors such as skill level, the chat perhaps, turns made, income.. armies.. Some solution is better than no solution. There's never going to be a utopia solution but we should atleast have some sort of barrier to prevent the most obvious cases of stalling.

Did you read the same messages we did?

"When im on here, im here to join a game of a risk style og game, not to sit and play a gam thats over, cause some little teenage boy who never got laid, decided to waste a few hour of my time. "

"Imo this shit shouldnt even give a warning, it should be a IP ban straight away."

"I dont even get why anyone would do it, i mean. I can just add my units fast in couple of minute and then watch a tv show, while the kid have to sit every single round and watch the clock go all the way down so he waste my time, but yet not get booted.
Its simply sick, and i think there is someone out there who should seriously go see a doctor, or get their parrents to buy them some friends or something "

These are useless comments. If you want to show a problem and find a solution you can do it without the aggressive language or the personal attacks towards other players. He's not toxic for noticing a problem that plenty have already noticed and that has been given loads of thought already. The way he goes about it is what people would describe as toxic.

I feel that stalling in RT should fall under the you shall be respectful to other players at all times rule. You're not respecting your opponent by purposefully wasting his time. Unlike MD you can't just make a few orders and move over, the game requires constant attention until it's done. And it can take hours.

On the other hand, Fizzer wrote the rules and there's this specific line:
Not taking their turn fast enough: Warzone can't force people to play, and you should not report players for not playing. If you find yourself waiting on other players longer than you'd like, please create or join games with lower boot times so you can boot them and continue your game.

So, nothing can really be done unless Fizzer changes the rules.

Sure, though I think it's an issue that can get players easily frustrated and I think that his posts are a product of frustration.

If players want to poke at his way of being frustrated rather than talk about the actual issue which is causing his frustration, than I think it's clear we are targeting the wrong elephant in the room.

I think a thread should be made in the ladder forums trying to get a definition for stalling again, eventually somebody will find the magic words/formula.

Some players stall without intending to because they just enjoy the game. I have seen some players, like one team on the 3v3 ladder play nearly every game way passed the point of being over. Some players stall because they're annoyed, and some players might stall because they think they can turn the game around somehow.

As I see, players think whether or not they can stall and doesn't think whether or not they should.

I think Platinium is saying pretty much what has to be said.

Op is clearly a post as a result of another bad experience, which happened more than occasionaly lately.

Again, im not talking about players that are just slow to take their turns, and spend the full timer or havent found the surrender button yet.

My rage is going towards those people who got a hemoroid cause they thought they were about to win a game and wont, and therefore is trying to get the win by clearly on PURPOSE to stall the time, and drag the game as many round as possible.
In several occasions they even say in chat surrender so you wont waste your time etc. A panel who would just take a look at a game like that and the chat aswell, would easily be able to see what the real purpose is in a game like that.

It might not be illegal to be slow taking turns, but when in a local distribution game and your game is over, its damn disrespectfull to play 20 or 30 further rounds just cause its easier to stay alive, and the opponent cant just push all his income forward and finish it fast.

It should be easy to see the difference in those type of games, and since it clearly such a big problem, im stunned there hasnt been doing any precautions against that type of play.

Its sad that warlight accept and thereby encourage people to play a game, only to destroy it for others, rather than secure those 98% that actually want to play the game a good play experience

This problem could be solved if vote ban is enabled in FFA.

However a more refined method should be implemented:

My take would be:

Players should be tagged for bad behavior when banned.

Like improving the ban system to incorporate reasons(like tick boxes), this way players with those thick boxes ticked could not join hosted games that do not allow those players, after say 10 different players ban them for that reason in the last month.

When I ban someone(and I banned a lot) I always write something in their profile to remember why I banned them, else I will forget.
It would be much easier and beneficial to everyone to have it automated and my bad experiences with a player save time of other players.

"players sometimes invent their own etiquette around how the game should be played. It's okay to do this, however, you should not expect that players will be warned or suspended when they break your etiquette".

Pretty much says it all right here
