There is so much more to unpack here than just any high-profile suicide.

The guy

-made YouTube videos with informative content on his adventures
-seemed to love his job and genuinely work hard at it

and then the hijacking:

-balls of steel you simply can't buy required to pull something like this off
-remains calm and collected in the face of death
-isn't bitter about life and enjoys every last minute of it (I think I'll go see the Olympics/ can you give me the coordinates on those orcas)
-does the loop de loop (actual pilots attempting this have crashed - impeccable skill for someone with no flying experience)

His fate is the one all people who sense an inevitable end want, but don't deserve. The wageslave taking control of "good equipment" that wasn't meant for him is the mythos that inspires every downtrodden working class man.

I am glad that he didn't kill a multitude of others while accomplishing his spectacular suicide.

Unfortunately Valhalla, being the home of dead warriors, seems an unlikely resting place for this man. It does not strike me that he was wholeheartedly enjoying his last minutes of life.

He was non compos mentis. I hope that he may rest in peace, but that is not for me to say.
