I think anyone who understands this game would think this whole thread is silly. There are so many metrics to measure who's the best, each lacking in its own way. While so many people play with different goals in this game it's impossible to name any individual player as "the best." It's like arguing over who the best athlete in each country is, or was. Its all subjective.

"lol, what a reply. Finds a game where i played barely over 6 months and was at rank 90 in the ladder. At least i learn from my mistakes. You should try it sometime ;)"

So what you're saying is you used to be worse than brainless, but since then you improved?

Only thing you seem to have learned was to act more like Pulsey.

if you were somewhat familiar with the human physiology you would know that the brain is not only what makes us think but it is also able to improve our behaviour in situations we are not used to. The fact i improved is therefore proof i have a working brain. Someone without a brain would have a certain base level and wont be able to adapt to new situations. Oh and making new alts every time you fail the ladder doesnt make you a better player, just desperate.

I haven't joined the ladder on an alt in years. I think I've done two alt runs total since you started playing warzone. Do you have any original ideas, or do you just recycle what you hear from others? Original thought is probably above you - I should probably lower my expectations.

You seem to have a stick up your ass. You don't refute anything I actually say, you just attack with ad-hominem attacks over and over. Funny though that you'd try to call me brainless, and cite a lack of improvement when I am arguing with kenny. I've shown significantly more improvement than Kenny. Kenny was a 1800 ladder player when I was a 1500 ladder player. He never significantly progressed.

Although I feel there are some exceptions to this rule, when you have similar players with similar performances on the same ladders it becomes harder to rank them for me. As you put it, people play w/ different goals and ambitions.

The best way to try to compare top players is to see their record against other top players, just as long as both players involved are in their primes. Linking games where one of the players involved is new to the game and unseasoned doesn't help.

Lastly I suppose there's a good chance that Timi is the overall best if he has a winning record against all the similar contenders.

Funaki, I mostly agree, and I think Timi is a strong, strong contender if we were forced to pick (my vote is on Buns, but I am kinda a fangirl). But I think one thing that a lot players don't consider is how serious players take this game. I've played against some players that put minimal effort into this game, but still do fantastic. Take BlackDragon https://www.warzone.com/Profile?p=6419993005. He hasn't been on in a while, but when he was active he normally only played casually, or so he claimed. But I am convinced that when he decided to 'play hard,' there was no better RT Strategic 1v1 player in the game. He wouldn't just beat me, he would dismantle me in a way like I've never been beat before. To my knowledge he just never played seriously. I would think there are a lot of players like that. Players that just don't have the time, or the interest to put together a resume like Timi or Buns. But does that make them not as good as Timi or Buns just because they don't care about trophies?

On side note does anyone find it funny that this thread of elite players just lobbing insults at each other? The Last Kiss, Nazhour, Ollie you are all elite players. This community is small enough as it is, why bitch at each other?

Pardon held rank 1 for a long amount of time, yes, but not for all that many games. He has rarely had more than 30 unexpired games. It's basically been one big ladder run - basically inflated throughout the entirety of it. Citing deadman though as an example of people holding rank 1 for long periods of time seems so silly so as to be absurd.

This annoys me so I'm taking the time to address it. The 1v1 ladder is a test of how much effort you can produce, not your skill. Any of those people you are arguing about, listed before, could get 1st without much struggle, but the number of games on a mediocre template sucks. That is why most people play 2 at a time, or 1 if they can. Me not having 30 unexpired games is not because I am scared of losing points to anyone on that ladder (maybe just Timi). But I have lost motivation on that ladder, and I imagine Timi has too, and I imagine Malakkan will too.

I also thought giantfrog was not so good anymore. He joined the mdl and did not do well if memory is correct.

Also for Nauz, I feel on nearly every thread I read, you end up arguing with someone. Maybe it is because you are confrontational or assertive by nature, maybe you like having the last word, or maybe you cannot ignore pulsey's trolling. But it says more about you than any of the people you are arguing with.

I guess it's not :D In fact i didn't find the time or motivation for a multi-day game in a very long time.

I think you're reading into my post more than was intended. It was not intended as a slight, merely as a statement that I feel the amount of time someone holds rank 1 is not particularly meaningful and that the way to hold rank 1 for a long amount of time is typically to play slow and be on an everlasting "run" because the ladder overrates people with few unexpired games. Rank 1 is damn near always someone with very few unexpired games. Octane and Equivoque are the only people in the top 10 with numerous unexpired games

I can't think of anyone other than mod, heyheuhei, and hotbeachbum who have EVER had rank 1with over 100 unexpired games.

Well, the best player on Warzone according to me is Yeon. Don't think any other nor players is even close tbh. Any other country I have no clue who is actually from where :P

EDIT: PaniX also has a seasonal win, so technically that is a 'come close' thing. Yeon still my pick thru.

What? Buns is from the U.K. We were talking about players from Germany.

"To my knowledge he just never played seriously. I would think there are a lot of players like that. Players that just don't have the time, or the interest to put together a resume like Timi or Buns. "

Of course, almost all of us have hidden potential that is being blocked by lack of motivation. Most players here probably have an unlocked potential to become a top player, but they don't take the time to improve because it's not a large enough priority to them.

1st can be held that way but it can also be held playing many more games. The reason most people don't have many unexpired games is 5 1v1 ladder games at a time is exhausting.
