Hi guys!
I'm new to WarZone and really looking forward to play this game. A few introductions from you guys would help me identify who is who.

One more thing: What's this clan thing and how does that work.

I'm Dan. Some say I was the best Warzoner of 2017.

See https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Clan for what a clan is. There in an event called Clan League where clans go against each other - https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Clan_League.

You way want to join https://discord.gg/vaWfhrW if you want to be more involved in the community.

In a literal sense, a clan is a group of players who have the same icon next to their name and if you join a bad clan like Darklords then that is all you get out of it. The base clan functionality is very low and this is one area that Fizzer could really improve on.

But if you join a decent clan then they help you get better at the game. You also need to be in a clan to compete in Clan League, which is arguably the highest level of competitive play on the entire website because players put the most effort into these games.

Clans are run by managers who have the absolute power to kick out anybody and everybody in the clan, invite anybody and everybody into the clan, strip other managers of their manager rights, give any and every clanmate manager rights, and edit their clan page, image, and icon.

Besides the forums, discord is the most widely used medium for players to communicate with each other. Many clans have their own Discords and clan chats to build a more tight-knit community. Most people here are nice and helpful. Even if we make fun of each other, we do it in good fun! For players that are just starting that are interested in joining a clan, I reccomend The Last Alliance (TLA) or First Column Confederation (FCC). Also find out if you prefer Diplomacy games or Strategy games. Most clans you find are focused towards strategy, but some like Hellas or TLA are fairly good places for burgeoning diplomacy players.

The wiki gives a fairly accurate definition, though the general rules of diplomacy games vary by who the host is, more so than Strategy type games.

* Make sure to read settings of games and understand what they're.
* Try Single player levels first and play with/against AI to grasp the basics.
* Try Quick Matches to see and learn popular maps.
* If you want to enjoy a good community, join clan. Many clans may use Discord for chatting-so you need to have an account there too.
* Resourceful post: https://www.warzone.com/Forum/168132-strat-guides for knowing the game mechanics better.

There are a few basic game types.

Free For All (FFA) is a massive battle royale with the fewest amount of rules of all the game types. It is a great way to sharpen your skills when you are just beginning your playing, and the number of players generally ranges around the 30-40 mark.

Quickmatch and other 1v1s are where you will find your highest percentage of the player base, though people who exclusively do these are not the majority of the the active player base. This qualifies as strategy or “strat” games. You will find your best and your worst players here.

Tournament and League players make up the majority of the active player base. These are the people you will see most often on the forums and Discord. These guys and gals are constantly looking to improve themselves, and frequently set up games with each other to test their playing style.

Diplomacy (Diplo) and Roleplay are the last major types. These generally have the most rules of any game, and tend to center around real-world events or popular shows or books (like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings). Diplomacy games are a mixed bag, and can range from utter dog shit to endless intrigue and excitement. The most important thing to do is to get your name out there and make connections, that way good players will want to be with you, and you can find good hosts who are passionate about the game.

While there is even more to the community that I haven’t talked about (the Rise of Rome, or RoR, community for instance), this covers most of the bases. We hope you enjoy the game as much as we do!
