I started with a map yesterday and right now I'm almost done, but all I need to do is add some bonuses to my map. The problem however is that I have no clue on how to do that.

[Here's the map](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=11165)

As you can see the map is basically a 7 by 7 square and therin lies the problem for me. I could do rows and colums but that would be hard to complete bonuses. I also thought about 2 by 2 squares, but that would mean I need 3.5 squares which wouldn't work (I think).

So now I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions.

I see you have already drawn the circles.
Just make the ID *BonusLink_Name*
And replace Name with whatever you name your bonus.
But be sure to make your bonus names without any spaces, commas or any other than the normal letters. For example, if you want to name your bonus *Brussels Capitol-Region*, you name it *BonusLink_BrusselsCapitolRegion* Once you get to the map editor, you can just name the bonus Brussels Capitol-Region and it will recognize it. If you're unsure, just make the bonus in the Warlight map screen, and if you check the bonus screen, you can see that it says "Bonus link missing, should be names BonusLink_***"

No, that was not the problem I was having, the problem was how to divide a 7x7 grid into bonuses. I know how to makes bonuses, this is my third map already. ;)
It's a symmeticral map in essence, so I figured it should have symmetrical bonuses, but the more I think of it I should make asymmetrical bonuses to make it less just a square.

The circles were supposed to be treasure spots (I remade a game screen so it was just a nice little detail), but now that I think of it, it makes a nice bonus window.

Regardless of the bonuses, it's a well drawn map, after all.

Well, here are a few ideas.

The first is just dividing the map in bonuses of 4 and one of 5, the second leaves the central territory either neutral or a bonus of its own.

Some ideas:

2x2 2x3 2x2
3x2 3x3 3x2
2x2 2x3 2x2

or

A A A B C C C
A A B B B C C
A D E E E F C
D D E E E F F
G D E E E F I
G G H H H I I
G G G H I I I

Both have obtainable, symmetrical bonuses. Of course uniformity get's sacrifices, but with 49 bonuses something's gotta give; 49's prime factorization is 7 * 7, so you have only three options: 1x 49-territory bonus (pretty pointless; once you have all territories, who needs bonuses), 7x 7-territory bonus (the 7th bonus, the one containing the center territory, cannot be symmetrical, so this won't work) or 49x 1-territory bonus (works in theory, but strikes me as rather boring).

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I really like the 'tetris block' idea and leaving the one territory in the middle.

RvW: the first idea you had came across my mind too, but for some reason I thought that would make the middle bonus too hard to complete and it would also mean that if you have it the game is basically over and you probably already won.

Grezchooo: Thanks for the compliment, it's always nice when someone appreciates the work you've done.

I'm gonna add the bonuses and it's gonna be a symmetrical tetris block division, I'll post the new version when I'm done.
