I tend to agree with that moderate Republican Senator lady that cast the deciding vote in favor of Kavanaugh. Christine Ford’s testimony was entirely believable, and it is very possible that she was sexually assaulted in her college years. What isn’t clear is if it was actually Bret who was the perpetrator. Several men have come out claiming to be the one who actually assaulted Mrs. Ford, and there is little credible evidence to back up that it was actually Bret at the party however many years ago it was.

That said, Bret’s testimony was quite immature, and seemed to indicate an inability to remain calm and collected under pressure. While I completely understand that he would be incredulous at a false allegation, his conduct did not seem fitting of a Supreme Court Justice.

But, you have to weigh that against his many many years of experiance as a circuit judge, his educated background, and his previous rulings. I have not yet looked at his previous rulings, so I cannot speak on that.

I think we need to subject all public officials to massive media smear-campaigns based on dubious evidence. How else will we know that they will perform well under pressure?
