I apologize if this is overkill. Roughly 8 hours ago a series of alternate accounts flooded the forums, a process which ended after 15 minutes. One of the accounts involved was youwerewarned (http://warlight.net/Profile?p=6428740943).

I informed my clan about this and another player brought to my attention that this exact account was used previously to do a similar thing and was controlled by this player ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ (http://warlight.net/Profile?p=6823466605) of the Inget stoppar oss.

Now, it's not uncommon for a conman to create characters that are allegedly against him to create tension for the goal of gaining attention. When DOOM/Righ went on his rage trip he used a series of accounts and it seems slipped up by using an old account that was linked with ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ. It's already been mentioned in another thread that Hidden Hand (http://warlight.net/Profile?p=1121439907) of the Illuminati, is an alternate account of DOOM's although DOOM personally referred to him as "a friend who's not talking to him anymore".

Also if you look into ᕙ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ's profile you'll notice that he hasn't earned any points in the last 30 days and has been inactive for a short time as well. Hidden Hand has only earned about 35 thousand.

Curiously, if all these accounts are in fact related to DOOM, he's effectively been involved in purchasing as many as three clans and a number of memberships.

What I'm getting at is, it seems DOOM/Righ may have a larger number of alternate accounts than previously thought. I know the game creator can't directly disclose this information to the public, but I'm curious and a little creeped out too actually.

Honestly, who cares? It's just some sad individual (or individuals) who gets his jollies by messing with complete strangers and just generally being a jackass. The only reason he keeps it up is because he gets such great reactions from you all.

As for buying memberships and clans, the more the merrier! More money in Fizzer's very deserving pockets.

That's honestly a great point. But seeing as you only joined a month ago. Who's banned alt are you? And why did you bother to dig that up.?

What if they trade alts and/or accounts? Especially likely if they know each other in other areas/ in the non-virtual world.

Richard Sharpe, you ask exactly the right question. Who cares?

Let's play out a scenario. You make 3 friends here on WarLight, with whom you play many games and talk to. One day you look on the forum and realize that a scandal is unfolding and these three friends are actually the same people. Now let's expand this scenario a bit and say you have 5 friends on WarLight, 3 which you just discovered are the same person. Now you start questioning the other 2. It's a creepy breach of trust and while unethical, isn't breaking the rules on this site. From looking at the ages of the accounts involved it's not unlikely that DOOM will just create a new account and come back in a couple months time to cause more trouble.

I think that's the main point I was getting at. Perhaps alternate accounts should be banned? The only effective method for a site like this would be to have trusted moderators checking IP addresses and interaction of accounts to see if there's some sort of connection and then responding appropriately.

Hell Bender, DOOM is in the same clan as I am and most of us are well aware of his actions. I didn't have to do much digging when there was already a thread full of information. Also, I've had an account for almost 2 months. I think there may be up to 3 accounts from DOOM in my clan alone.

Then clearly you need to pick your friends better or not consider people you know absolutely nothing about as being friends.

Your IP ban is flawed since anyone logging on from work will share an IP address with their coworkers. Are you banning all of them for the sake of the one? Never mind IP spoofing etc.

I'd actually be for having some mods put in, but with only 1-2 dozens posts a day, it'd get pretty boring. And Sharpe there was no talk of banning IPs just moderating them.
