Could QM adopt a system like other games where you can set minimum/maximum levels to play against? would stop alts trying to scrape points from people as well as massively unmatched games where some people are new to the game and their spirit gets dampened by a huge defeat.

Sure there are many disadvantages to this that i am not thinking of so let me know if there are

Level isn't an indicator of skill, so matching by that would not solve the problem you're trying to solve.

QM rating is a better indicator of skill, and that's what QM already matches based on.

So changing to match on level would actually make the problem worse.

I get matched with tons of newbie players at night. It does get a little boring if you're just beating up on people.

I assume you're talking about real-time matches? RT matches will always be limited by the fact that you're only going to get matched with other people who are looking for a game at that exact moment. No amount of matching algorithm improvements can fix that. In general, multi-day matches will give you opponents better suited to your skill.

I think level is definitely an indicator of ability though, nothing will be accurate but its certainly an indicator.
